Ok brothers, back again, went to re-wrap the Force streetfighter exhaust on my son's X-1, bad news, it's cracked, luckily, I guess, it's about midway down the front pipe, anyway, going to get it welded...any suggestions would sure help... | ||

The biggest problem with the Force exhaust is the rubber loop used for a hanger, and the fact that it isn't stainless. When you have someone weld up the cracks or weld it yourself, after fixing the cracks, fit the pipe back onto the bike with the header flanges and rear flange mounted, but not the loop. Make sure the pipe isn't bound or bent, just hanging freely, but snug. Then make some tabs to weld to the collector to mount it solid to the hanger. Make sure the holes drilled for the through bolt are as perfectly aligned as you can, then mount the pipe up per Buellistic's instructions. | ||

Force pipes are made out of a very thin, hard steel. It's very difficult to weld unfortunately. | ||

Any good welder proficient in Tig should be able to git-r-dun. | ||

Hey brothers, just a quick update on my Force exhaust, got it TIG welded, kind of sloppy job, but it's welded. Wrapped up the pipes and sprayed with silicone proofing, found the copper formula for the heater bolts, only thing is I'll have probably reuse the header gaskets. So, the X-1 should be speeding this weekend. Thanks for all the help. | ||

Ok, l will get new ones, thanks, these white hairs don't mean I'm too smart to listen to good advice...the X-1 will have to wait and I'll be riding the S-1 instead, last thing, any suggestions on which gaskets to use ? | ||

Cometic or Screamin' Eagle. The stock style ones are too big and protrude the exhaust port once installed. | ||

I use the bigger ones always have issues with the thin ones |
