Well I have had my uly for a couple months now and it came with the serpent exhaust, ebr race ecm(have two spare stock ones also), and a k&n filter. The low speed on this bike is horrible. Are there any tunes out there? Or would I be better to toss the stock exhaust back on the bike? It is an 06 so I assume to get a tune done at a shop I either need ecm spy or add a power commander to it. Another thing I noticed lately is that it has a hanging idle sometimes around 2k rpm going from on throttle to off with the clutch pulled in. I was thinking intake gasket? Thanks, Steve |

Steve, first off: your username is incredible . I can't answer most of your questions, but I can say that the low speed on my '06 is terrible too, even though it has the stock exhaust and mapping. Does get a little better once the bike is warmed up. Maybe a close look at the mapping by a pro could solve, or at least alleviate that issue. |

My nickname playing hockey was slacker because I never made it to practice on time. Not my fault they scheduled practice at 6:00 am. Then a few years later I got a tattoo that says Slacker but only half of it is colored all the way in. Most people think I'm a big sissy when they see it but then they get the joke. |

I'll trade you my stock exhaust and cover all shipping if you want to trade the Micron for a stock setup. I'll even include the actuator and cable. The Micron does give up significant amount of power and torque down low, about 15 ft/lbs at 4000 RPM actually. But it does make more power up top. On a stock motor,it makes about 4 more HP according to American Sport Bike's exhaust shootout. In my case, I'm making almost 30 HP over stock with the stock exhaust, and I rev higher as well, so a Micron would have more effect on my motor. I don't care about losing low end as my bike is mainly an R&D project for me, with the goal of making as much power as possible. (Message edited by phelan on July 21, 2015) |

Slacker, your hanging idle is because you're idling too high. Back your idle off about 50 rpm's and see if it corrects it. You might also be due for a tps reset. If interested I can give you a blow by blow of a proper reset but you will need at least the free version of ecm spy and a dongle for a laptop. |

American Sport Bike sells a tune for Micron exhausts that works perfect on your 06. I have American Sport Bike's map on my 06 with Micron, it is fantastic, even right off idle. You hanging idle is due to the idle speed being a tad too high, lower it a tick to fix that. |

I do have a complete stock exhaust to put on the bike if I go that route but thanks for the offer. Yeah I did just raise the idle a little on the bike it was idleing around 800-850 rpm, right now it is probably 1000-1050. I have the orignial vdts (sp) that came with the bike so I should be able to do a reset with that. I'll call Al right now about that map. Thanks guys Steve |

I did a tps reset last night and checked for intake gasket leaks and couldn't find any leaks. The tps reset seemed to help a little but I think the bike ultimately just needs a tune. Going to get some plugs and change those also. Steve |

Yep it really does need a tune with the Micron, there is an old thread out there of someones bike who ruined the pistons by running the Micron with the stock map. |

"ruined the pistons by running the Micron with the stock map". Not surprising since the 06 bikes run a bit lean, over so I you ask me, as it is. That and a VERY OPEN can like the Micron is a problem in the long run. Sounds like Froggys advice is the way to go since he has the same setup. I would be inclined to use the new flash on one of your old ECMs (it will need a TPS reset doing as well) just in case there is a problem with the EBR one. |
