I'm looking for a good condition engine for a 2008 or newer Ulysses to drop in, no repairs required.

Any XB12 engine will work; they're the same within the year range. I have an 09 XB12R engine in my Uly.

If any xb motor will fit, there are a couple on CL here in Mpls. ( neither are mine, and I know nothing about them, but my guess is the high buck ad is an auctioned motor from the BMC closure )

Mnscrounger - I've been looking. Up until now I had only found the new one for $3k, that seems like a lot.

Thanks for everyone's help on this! I got the new to me engine installed this weekend. Now I just need a kickstand with a 2 hole bracket for a Uly since this engine is out of a Firebolt.
