struggled with setup and grip and then the heat. 7th in race 1 and then 9th in race 2 in which the bike was handling the best of all weekend but Max got overheated about halfway through and got sick in his helmet. yuck! was having a good 3 way battle with Mcdonaugh and Babuska for 7th until then and soldiered on to the finish on the R1. next up-Miller in two weeks! still troubleshooting our lack of power on the EBR over 9000rpm after the crash at COTA. thought it was an injector problem but that wasn't it. tim |

actual fault was destroyed first gear on the R1 falling into the well that the #2 rod and counterbalance belonged in and being broke up into bits destroying most of the bottom end. saved the head and cams, 2 pistons and rods and possibly some trans parts. installed new motor and will be at Laguna racing this weekend!! wish us BEST LUCK!! come on out! WSB WEEKEND AT LAGUNA!!WooHoo!! tim |

I was very glad to hear that Max was able to avoid the race 2 incident. Horrible news. |

Very sad about Dani Rivas and Bernat Martinez. Why were they there? I thought Dani Rivas was racing in the CEV championship this year after a BSB ride fell through. I always wince when I see someone stalling at the start of any race. |

Bernat Martinez was running the whole series since the start of the year and was 5th in SB points but I don't know about Daniel Rivas other than he was on a BMW and qualified in 7th place. incident took place at the entrance to turn 1 100+ yards from the starting line so speeds were way up there. I didn't see the beginning of the incident but saw the back of the field fanning out and Max going to the inside of the turn on the brakes. wind was blowing from that corner towards the starting line so the dust obscured what was going on until it settled. aftermath was total carnage with some riders moving and some not. we beat feet back to the pit spot to await Max. RIP Bernat and Daniel. tim |

Great weekend with a horrible ending at Laguna Seca. We knew it was bad just by the way the track announcers were handling it and their tone. A single death is absolutely horrible, but a two is unimaginable. Usually the ride home is spent reminiscing about all the great moments both on the track and off, however the ride home this time was spent thinking about the tragedy on Sunday. RIP racers. |

What's amazing to me is the crash didn't look all that terrible... I mean, I think we've all seen "worse" crashes where the riders have walked away. But, you just never know when it's your time to go... I hope I go out doing something I love, no matter how tragic. Prayers up for the families. |

They didn't show any of that on Bein. Not even a mention of it. They only show race 2. It must have happened in race 1. |

beIN didn't televise the MotoAmerica races, did they? They broadcast only the WSBK series. CBS Sports has the contract for MotoAmerica (and what a lame-ass job they do of that, too). |

was at the start of MotoAmerica SB/SS1000 race 2. another fellow was filming from the stands and says it shows Rivas starting to slow going under the bridge just past the finish line and the next 6 or 7 going around him and then the contact starts. he had 19 riders behind him from qualifying. really bad. Condolences to the families. tim |

Well, with Indianapolis off the MotoGP calendar next year, I'm pretty sure that means MotoAmerica won't be there either. Sure would be nice if they replaced that round with Mid-Ohio in the summer. I've never been to that track before. I've seen the past several "finales" at NJMP. |

Tentative schedule up at Superbike Planet: http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2015/Sep/150925d.ht m No mention of Mid-Ohio, but they say they are in negotiations for two more dates, so here's hoping... |

What the Hay are they trying to insure that most people get wet going to and from races and that they will have wet races. What about spreading out the races later in the year. |

So the latest rumor I heard is that Marco Melandri is looking for a ride in MotoAmerica. Does that mean he'll be bringing his skyscraper girlfriend with him? |

Kind of sad that MotoAmerica which is based in socal and the major manufactures are also based in socal, yet we do not get a local race. |

Laguna Seca is not in SoCal...and the Laguna Seca round is highly contingent on WSBK coming back--that's why the date is TBD. Let's all pray WSBK re-ups it's contract with Laguna Seca. I don't know what I would do without at least one weekend of camping at the hallowed grounds. |
