hey Chrger68, I also believe that you need matched LH & RH case halves regardless, once you're done, might I get the RH case [or both] from you? it's for a non-running display engine thx! |

Kmbuell sent you a email I'm up for buying your set if they are in good shape. Previous owner of my bike damaged the case I think the bearing must have went out then he installed new bearing and seal and sold the bike I found out when primary fluid went all over the place. The bearing is not pressed in just sits loosely in the case with a 1/4" of slop back and forth. |

Firstbuell when I get it all done I do not see any reason to keep the old case so sure. |

Hope you don't mind me asking questions on this..are you talking about the right hand/Cam chest/pinion shaft side of the cases being bad or the left side/primary side? The right side does not have a seal of any kind, with the bearing pressed onto the inner race on the pinion shaft of the flywheels and is on that shaft upon removal. The left side has an oil seal and bearing. That bearing is not pressed into the race. It is held in place with a spacer ring and the slack is taken up when the sprocket shaft is pulled and cinched up when assembling the flywheels into the left side case, and if the flywheels have been removed from the left side, the bearing will float all around loosely in the race by itself ??? Right hand side 5th gear/output shaft bearing inside of case is damaged allowing the bearing and 5th gear to slid into the trans. also outside is damaged causing poor fit with seal.
