Author Message   Rtlll Posted on Saturday, July 11, 2015 - 01:12 pm:        I've run across a couple of early Buell RS1200's recently that were purchased new in California and have KIT prefix VIN numbers. Example "KIT123" stamped into frame, tag on frame and title all show same KIT VIN #. Does anyone have information on why these bikes are different than later/other RS or RSS bikes with traditional 17 digit VIN #'s.
