Those of you who may be new to our beloved passion will witness these tragic events again and again in your moto careers...You should sit down and really think about what this is all about...Think of those around you...For the rest of us who have already made the determined decision to ride each and every one of these tragic loses should cause us to stop and think about how we ride and if, maybe, we can do some things to reduce and manage the risk...In this way we can honor Jim Russell and all the other fallen riders...I am going for a ride... My prayers go out to Jim and his family. I had a near death expirence on my MX bike when i was in high school. Thank God i am here to talk about it today. I learn a lot when reading stuff like this. I feel terrible that someone had to die or get seriously injured so I can learn to be a better rider. It seems to me this kind of stuff is getting posted more freqeuent nowadays. I would say take the Motorcycle safety class at your local college. It costs say $60.00 or so. Even expirenced guys. It may save you life. Regards mike | ||

The first, and only time, i saw my father cry was when his best friend died in an accident on his bike. some cage ran a red and blindsided him. my little brother almost died on his bike last fall, as did my father when i was young. it is a travesty when a biker passes, like losing family. my prayers are for jim and his family, i feel the loss as we all should.
