We are developing a new front brake solution for the old Tube frame Buells. We are making a strong steel not aluminium front bracket that will be a bolt in Solution. The kit contains a new NISSIN CALIPER, bracket and hardware. We like to make it a affordable replacement for the old Brake caliper. Would be cool if you offered it to make a dual front setup. Aluminum bracket also as most have raw aluminum forks | ||

We are really afraid that aluminium will not give us the strenght needed for the small bracket we like to make. And we really don't want to make any mistake with the front brake. We have seen failures and incidents with broken brackets from other manufacturers also when used by ourself. No riks with the front brake. We will make a dual bracket setup to keep it cheap we sell the calipers and the brackets and hardware people need to buy the rest we will show them what to buy (Message edited by easyrider on July 02, 2015) | ||

I take it this is going to be for 12.6" rotors? That will certainly make changing pads easier and rotors more readily and inexpensively available  . | ||

M2s use the same calipers and mounts as the other tubers. | ||

Johnod yes they will be Lakes, no idea we won't do that, swapping a front fork is easier and cheaper we do make ant triple tree you like to fit every frok you like | ||

Thank's Ross & easyrider. i just expected the calliper mount on upside down, was part of fork end. I'll be looking to cleaning my bike up , it performs & rides great just looks sad. yes i would expect a fork swap one that has the Brembo radial callipers would be easier. but what exactly is an ant Triple Tree? i know what a triple tree is , not that type? | ||

I think he meant any* triple tree. The nice thing about the M2 triple trees, is that you can bore them out to fit any fork, up to 54mm, and the stock 43mm bore leaves enough room to accommodate several different KawaHondaZuki fork options. | ||

If the early PM caliper needs a rebuild... Just purchased a seal rebuild kit for the 6 piston from PM. I haven't installed it yet - I think (and hope) it's the right kit. I don't have the part number handy (traveling) but it's on their website. | ||

Screamer , that PM , products are not what i call quality performance . more like all show. i've had both PM brakes & Brembo , PM did make some good performance products at one time but they make rubbish now , the wheels too heavy for a MC. i like light weight as you feel the performance gain. heavy wheels called Performance machine has to be a joke. the lighter the wheel to quicker it can excellerate. | ||

Lakes, I was referring to a rebuild kit for the early performance machine brakes that were stock components on some of the early tube frame Buells. Whatever current market PM is pursuing with their new product line doesn't matter to me - nor was I endorsing (or condemning) their wheels. The lead post said maintenance kits were "impossible to buy". I was probably mistaken thinking that maintenance kits meant rebuild kits. I think it's great that Twin Motorcycles is adding brake options to give all of us more choices. And although the supply may be dwindling, there are a few rebuild options for those that have a Buell that we'd like to maintain as many original components as possible. | ||

I'm traveling but I could send a photo when I'm home next week - it's still in the package. I sent a photo of the calipers to PM last month, asking for advice on a rebuild kit, and some other items. The rebuild kit that was suggested was 0051-3902. I think it contains just the seals. I ordered it because I was putting new pads in and wanted the kit "just in case". |
