Reading Trouble Codes on a 2010 Buell XB -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ I rode the bike to work today and it ran great, on the way home it started running very poorly. The bike would fall flat if you would open the throttle past 1/4 throttle. The bike idled poorly but did not die. It was way down on power, I had to down shift to make it up small inclines on the interstate. I purchased a trouble code reader from American Sport Bike but I'm not sure I'm reading it correctly. I get 6 quick flashes then I get a slow flash, pause, then 3 slow flashes. If I'm reading the codes correctly I get multiple codes, a 1-3, 3-3, 3-7, and a 5-7. The trouble code list shows a 1-3, and a 3-3, but not a 3-7 or a 5-7. My service manual refers me to an electrical diagnostic manual I do not have. Any suggestions? Thanks |

A more detailed list of codes is here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=142838&post=2360318#POST2360318 That said, it still doesn't have 37 or 57. If you read 13 and 33 correctly, I believe you are having a fuel pump issue, it sounds like it is not pumping out enough fuel, causing the O2 sensor lean code (13), and your lack of power. |

Post a quick video of the flashes and we can help interpret. |

Thanks guys that was very helpful. It could be a fuel pump issue, I had it out to replace the low fuel light sensor back when I first bought the bike this spring. Maybe I damaged it somehow reinstalling, it was a tight fit. I'm curious about the other codes the bike is throwing. Since it is a 2010 maybe the codes are unique to that model year. I guess I'll replace the fuel pump or at least remove it to inspect it. I truly appreciate the help! |
