After reading a prior post http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/765565.html?1435229474 A lot of people chimed in that he should of had insurance to cover the fire damage for his Blast. I am curious what kind of insurance other people have, how much is it and what they expect to get for a totaled motorcycle. |

I have AAA same as my house and cars covers both bikes even through winter full coverage. I think it costs me under 150 per year for the pair! And yes covers fire etc. if its in my garage and theres a fire house ins will cover that. |

I use Progressive. It currently costs me around $11/month. I have had two bikes (03 XB9 and 03 FZ6) totaled using this policy. They look at similar bikes in your area and cut you a check for the average price. They also cover the gear you were wearing at the time. |

I use progressive 99 m2 is about $4 each a month for liability, $7 a month if I step up to full coverage (500 deductibles)...I often swap this one and my other bikes between liability and full coverage based on which is being worked on the 06 uly is a whopping $11 a month for full coverage (500 deductibles) I have a couple accidents and they have been more than reasonable with what they have paid me out, especially considering I do all my own work. Especially like how the adjuster will print you a check on the spot, from his car. The ones I have dealt with have basically taken my word for the costs of parts since my stuff is usually rare and/or adapted from stuff built for other purposes/applications. Thanks for the replies, I also use Progressive and its about $8 per month total for liability. I was under the impression that insurance companies just cut a check on the blue book value of the vehicle in the event of bike being totaled, which is below what I paid for the bikes. ($3500 and $3000) for both 2000 M2's. |

We use Progressive. Have the highest coverage they have, mostly b/c it covers repairs and hotel if you get stranded. I think it is $33/mo for 2 bikes. FL doesn't require insurance so I didn't have it the first few years. |

I had progressive and switched to Allstate (same as my auto and house).... I think i pay about $120/yr. Im looking to get custom motorcycle insurance though like fischer or something along those lines (still researching) but i want to up my replacement value to around $10K in case it ever gets stolen, etc.... blue book wont cut it if i remember correctly Fisher quoted me $135/yr or something along those lines for the $10K replacement value. Wow I'm paying too much ( but my credit sucks after some medical stuff ) I have 100k/300k liability for my passenger and 50k property damage. I pay 224/yr for this thru Geico ( same as progressive to the penny ) and an extra $7/yr for roadside. Markel was $300 and Shelter (home and car policies) won't cover a Buell |

I'm on Allied, but since I have been a customer for over 20 years (home and auto), my rates are pretty cheap. Full coverage, full replacement cost (even if it is more than blue book). They would not provide full replacement cost for my 75 FJ40 though... |

You guys are killing me. After MUCH shopping around, the cheapest insurance I found for the S2 was $641 per year. I have the legal minimum coverage, and I get nothing if the bike is a write off. Yes my record is clean, and I'm 60yrs old, been driving (legally) since I was 16 with zero accidents , and have 3 other vehicles insured with them. O and remember it's too cold to drive for half the year. Welcome to Ontario. |

I pay something like $350/yr for full coverage on the Uly through Geico. Insurance is quite a bit higher here in Fort Collins than it was in Amarillo, though Fort Collins was recently named the safest big city to drive in, ironically. In Amarillo, I paid I think $200/yr for full coverage on the S2, including up to $3000 worth of extras. |

I feel your pain Johnod. Switched to Intact to get my monthly down to 75$ for the X1. Ontario has crappy rates at best. You pay for 12 months but may only get to ride 5. |
