Lol, Haven't been to a 7/11 in a while as their cups don't hold up to my bungie cord cup holder . I had to replace the rear wheel bearings, and I couldn't stand the factory titanium color, so I painted the wheels. True Blue, not Hero Blue, but this was $4 instead of $750 for a new set of Hero Blue wheels . (Message edited by phelan on June 30, 2015) |

Nice. I don't think my wheels have been so clean since... ever. |

Lol. These weren't clean by any means when I started. I did a lot of scrubadubbing with soap and then brake cleaner to get all I could off, and chalked up the rest to staining and painted over it. The main motivation was because I already had the rear off to change wheel bearings (3 bearing wheel btw) and needed to change pads in the front. Figured now was as good a time as any. |

That is sharp! Where did you get that rear sprocket, or did you just bead blast the original or something? |

My very fast doo dad involves 1190cc of watercooling chaindriving might Ktmguy, that sprocket was a Buell accessory back in the day, no longer in production. (Message edited by Froggy on June 30, 2015) |

Froggy, Where or how do you get parts for the SX when it becomes necessary? How do you like it? |

I have an EBR dealer less than an hour away, so far the only parts I've needed are maintenance parts, which are the same as the 1125R. I'm buying a new Race ECM next week, going to do the secondary exhaust delete, then leave the bike as is. |

I guess my real question is what good is the warranty when it comes to 1190SX specific parts. Pretty much out of luck in that case I would imagine. Our dealer here in Omaha always has to order any part besides oil filters and spark plugs. Those EBR bikes are very nice but considering the warranty is so very dicey it's a wonder that the remaining bikes at the Omaha dealer haven't been discounted further to reflect a worthless warranty. When one of these EBR bikes is crashed and parts are needed that aren't 1125 parts then what? |

The warranty isn't dicey at all, I bought it "as is", like every used bike I've ever bought. Given that it is an EBR, I don't expect to have any major issues, and even if I did, there is nothing that can't be fixed.

I go to the EBR dealer and order the part, same as I would if I broke something on one of my other bikes. |

That was probably the last time I ever washed it. Today it is dirty and covered in road grime, complete with gunk spewing out my rerouted breather

You still have it? Is that not the one that was wrecked? |

Yep still have it, it was wrecked, that picture was taken after "fixing" it. Bike is a platypus at this point, part Lightning Long, part Uly, part 1125R, part Blast, part CityX, part basically everything. Frame, swingarm, and motor are basically the only original parts left on it. It is getting a Ulysses wiring harness whenever I can get around to swapping it out, the stock harness has been cut up so many times that I literally have to bang on things to start the bike, and to turn on the lights/turn signals/dash I have another top secret procedure. |

The wheels look great. What brand of paint? Sometime I'd love to do metallic gray plastics and red wheels like that one-off (apparently) EBR 1190RX that was posted. |

Hugh, paint is Rustoleum 2X Max Cover, True Blue. Stuff is like Killz, covers VERY well with minimal paint, though I did do extra layers for longevity. |

I have always been a proponent of color matching wheels. The '05 City X I had was hero blue with black wheels. If I had kept it much longer I would have painted them blue also. Looks good! Just a note; be careful with the 'brake cleaner' on the powder coated wheels, it will melt into it if it is exposed too long. |
