** update 2 ** - well there was no way I was going to glue the tiny piece of plastic tube left on the bottom of the needle to the plastic tube in the IC. Then I had a stroke of genius. I found an allen wrench that fit into the tube, cut a piece off, and pressed it into the center of the tube and center of the tube left in the needle. Turned it on to be sure 0 was zero, looking good!

** update ** - looks like the needle broke off the tube. Gonna be fun to try and glue it, but not much to lose

Special thanks to blk09R for his instructions in this post - http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/686961.html

Note the orange/red orings for each of the screw holes. Some stuck in the base, some in the cluster. I'll put them all back into the base

Still working on it, will post more if I have revelations

The white tabs aren't used to remove the guts, just grab the connector or center piece and wiggle it out. I did press on the house a bit by hand to help ease it out

Hope your new one doesn't fog like my 09 CR.

Mine actually did fog and left a mineral mark on the glass

So, this was a good opportunity to clean it.

Photos 4 & 5 show a breather valve they have in the bottom of the cluster - which I just noticed in the photo I must have broke a tab off. Doh. well, seemed to press in well, we'll see
