I bought a complete machined aluminum replacement for the rubber piece from this guy on Ebay. I don't see any listed there at the moment, but here's some contact info. By the way it works great. http://www.ebay.com/usr/gmaan03?_trksid=p2057872.m 2749.l2754 |

WOW,what an outstanding solution! I was on my 3rd replacement OEM cap.Thank you VERY much Mr. Gmaan.I'm a machinist too but access to that kind of equipment is very difficult for me.But IF I could make one on my CNC I could make 50000/week |

Five minutes for every vise and tool change, fifteen minutes to rough the shape out, ten minutes to cut the lock and bolt slots, fifteen minutes to buff, .... that's close to an hour each. 24 times seven is 154. Running 24/7 will involve at least two machinists. It seems to me 100 a week would be good for a one-man shop. Looks to be T6 aluminum, same stuff pistol slides are made of, not cheap. How many CNC mills have you got? They are a good deal at the price he is charging. Mine has been installed for half a year and shows no signs of wear. |

Related question: Source or dimensions for the O ring that seals the cap when closed? I'm new to this Buell tuber stuff, and help is much appreciated. |
