Was filling swingarm w/oil when the 3/8" hose on the end of my funnel dropped off into the swingarm of my XB9R. It is standard gas-line hose about 9" long. How am I going to retrieve it? Need ideas. |

I had this happen with my auto transmission on the car. Depending on whether you can get into the end of the hose that fell in, what i did was used a piece of wire with a hook bent into the end, fed the wire and hook through the centre of the tube then pulled it out. Hope this helps, good luck. |

invert motorcycle, shake until hose falls out. alternatively, drill drain plug out to large enough size to pass hose, then tap for oversize pipe plug. |

Go to Big Lots in the Cedar Hills shopping center and buy "The Grabber" for $1. |

Drain the oil, locate it with a torch and mirror, and fish it out the top or bottom hole with cable-tie/tie wire/coathanger bent to shape/fish-hook on forceps, whatever comes to mind and looks a good proposition. Or do what Gansta said, patience is your best friend for this sort of job. |

This may be obvious, but whatever you choose to try for the fishing - make sure it's tied/wrapped/secured so that it can be retrieved, should you loose it during fishing. The hook-on-forceps made me think of that. Make sure you stop trying when you feel tension/aggravation building. Not a rush job that one. Good luck Henrik |

That said, I think Rocky is spot on; a cheapo grabber/pick-up tool such as this would be my first try. Can't beat the price either Henrik |
