OK first is the engine supposed to rev higher when you start it cold? aka first thing in the morning? When I start my bike it runs fine at idle. When I leave for work in the morning from a start it will miss /stutter at lower rpms. So much so that it is unnerving taking a curve or turning at low rpm. I ride 22 miles to work and it usually takes at least half way for this to get better. By the time I get to work it is mostly gone. You can feel it at higher rpms but it is not as noticeable or as numerous. When I leave from work in the evening it still has the problem but it doesn't take as long for it to go away. 2006 Uly, stock ecm, stock pipe. I have had the bike almost 2 years and I do not remember it doing this when I first got it. |

First check the front spark plug wire. They had a tendency to rub through on the idle adjuster cable. Then pull and inspect the plugs. Likely a partially fouled plug, if they show wet black at all replace them. |

I dont think its a fouled plug. Recently changed. Will check wires again though thanks |

I would reset the TPS if you haven't already and go from there. Al sells the ECMspy cable or you can source it elsewhere, and an older, free version of ECMspy is available. |

That also sounds like leaking intake seals. While it's cold try spraying some WD-40 around the intake at the heads. Will have to remove the air scoops but that's not hard. Sounds like the leak goes away with engine heat. |

I was thinking along those lines as well. |

JDM, email me and I can help you find ECMspy if you need, and the drivers needed to run it. I downloaded them over the weekend. |

I had a bad rear spark plug wire, it burned up into the spark plug boot. It finally burned up so far the cylinder never fired at all. Part of the problem was the wire pushing up in the boot. |

Thanks guys. I have been riding the Electra GLide and been real busy at work. Hopefully might get a chance to meddle with it this weekend. Also forgot to mention that there were no trouble codes.. I am going to check plugs, wires and intake seals first before I start computer testing. I am better with carbs than FI but I have messed with power commander before. Its funny I can rebuild the shovelhead but FI and some electrical are SCARYYY! I mean I don't want to let the magic smoke out! |

Check the TPS sensor. My bike started behaving in that way but it got worse over time. My TPS was failing. I replaced it with the Duralast and all was well. |
