8 tanks of gas, 56 hours round-trip and 2600 miles...totally worth the trip. S1W, 15k miles, pretty well taken care of, going through it now for the usual issues, shock is toast and shopping for a Penske or Works replacement. Has Banke shift and brake levers, S&S Super E carb.

Looks great to me but that S&S makes my right knee hurt just looking at it. |

Yeah, I'd be at least swapping that around. |

NICE! The air filter doesn't go with the rest of it, but personal preference... |

I am thinking of getting that air filter for my M2 because it is more weather proof. |

Thanks everyone! I ordered the Penske shock this week along with new intake seals & jets for the S&S (running rich and won't idle below 2000) I'll change the oil this weekend also. I'm not a fan of that air cleaner either and most likely will get a Forcewinder, so if anyone wants the S&S (support bracket is broke) make me an offer |

Very nice bike, Ditch the V&H and the S&S install a Mikuni, and better muffler (plenty to choose from) & stretch them arms!! But, considering that you picked an S1 for your first tuber.....YOU MUST find a stock seat to get the full effect!! Ride safe, Chris |

I got the stock air box on one of my M2's, I have a hard time getting used to the looks, put a Force Winder (love it) on my other bike but concerned about getting caught in the rain. If you decide to get rid of the S & S air filter, let me know. |

You can buy a "sock" for the Forcewinder filter if you're concerned about water. |

I should confess I actually replaced the K&N on my Force clone with one of these Free Spirit air filters, a couple months ago. Not because of the weatherproofness, but saw a test where they outperformed K&N, and they don't use oil. It's analogous to the difference between gore-tex and waxed cotton for a riding jacket. http://www.freespirits.it/en/component/virtuemart/ modules-hd/sprint-filter-water-repellent-air-filte r2013-05-29-21-10-01det.html?Itemid=0 |

Ken, pm'd James, thanks for procrastinating I had passed on calling on it earlier in the week because at that price I figured it was already gone or a typo. Fortunately he'd taken it to a shop because it wouldn't start and meanwhile had pulled the CL ad. He got it back Friday afternoon and I was there Saturday 9 am (Message edited by sparky300 on May 02, 2015) (Message edited by sparky300 on May 02, 2015) |
