You know this could be fairly entertaining..... My schedule is clear as of right now for the A.M. of Sat...... so anyone who wants to get together Saturday and "assist" in stabbing this motor is more than welcome to......if I can wait that long. and providing the weather is crap, because I know all of you would be out riding otherwise..... and I use the term assist VERY, VERY LOOSELY Dennis! Give me a call. ATTN: If you have any moral connundrums regarding consumption before nine in the morning.....come by around noon, we're serving hydraulic sandwiches. hahahahaha |

Consumption before nine a.m. is a little late when you get off work at 0630 like myself, you should at least have a cold one waiting for us at 0700. I might consider stopping by if thats not to early! LOL!! |

One should NEVER consume alcohol before 5:00 PM. With 24 distinct time zones on this planet... there are several time zones at any given moment where it is after 5:00 PM. Saturday morning... we will be at Kuwait City... for drinking purposes!! |

See... it is always time for a drink someplace... and when one travels via interdimensional travel so frequently that one has frequent flyer miles, it's always the right time and place!!!! By-the-way... I have always evaluated my place of employment with the condition that it would be a much better place to work if alcohol could be consumed!! However... such things cannot be brought into a federal building. Therefore... I always have fresh breath!!! Ever see the expression on a supervisor's face when you chug-a-lug about 1/4 bottle of "minty fresh" Listerine or Scope... no federal regulations against fresh breath!!! SAM... Two things... call me tonight did the new engine come with a front pulley in place??? |

I have a small problem..... I swore off TV about a week ago, since then I have been keeping myself busy working to get my car ready for paint. It is at a buddy's house near Paola. It's a little bit of a drive there and back. So it has been some long evenings. That's the background. So here's my problem, it all starts when the finance' calls yesterday to remind me that I need to be home before nine so I can see her off (she'll be out of town for the next four days, at the NASCR race in Texas). (and no, I've never seen her watch a Nascar race, spout the name of a driver, or mention being a fan otherwise) I think some friends of hers got tickets or something, what the hell do I care, I'm free for four whole days!!!!!!!! Back to my problem.... I have this car that I'm finishing the body work on, that is an hours drive from home. I normally get to leave work about 4:30-5:00. Well, yesterday I end up having to work late (like 6:30ish) and I'm thinking that if I have to be home in two and a half hours, then two hours worth of driving is pretty much out of the question. so nix working on the car! damn, now what the hell am I gonna do? The Finance' gets home from work around 8:30 so I've got some time to kill.....Remember I've sworn off Cable. Let me explain this for a moment. I haven't had Cable TV since College been about ten years(except for the year one of my roommates at the time had it and don't really remember watching much of it then). So for the last four-five years at least, I've survived on the 4,5,and 9 news at ten and the dribble that follows. Well, the Finance' requires a technicolor education, so being the provider of all things divine that I am. when she moved in the TV was turned on. I don't think it's been turned off since. Problem is there is always something "tolerable" on Cable. chopper shows, history channel, poker tournaments....guy stuff. Well all of my projects were getting shelved or seeing very little progress and I found myself cursing the wench for paying to have Cable and insisting that Roseanne was the only thing on....So to make an even longer story, longer I have made a note to myself to get back to the garage and my toys and beer. So here's my problem, I'm stuck at home with quite a few things I COULD work on in the garage. I have an X1 with a wristpin or lifter problem. It's in as many pieces as my XB, there's still a little more teardown that I can busy my self with there. I have an XB Frame laying on the floor in the corner, surrounded by all the Parts that used to make her whole, god I miss her! Oh yeah, sitting on a skid next to her is a "tummy-tuck-ass-lift-boob-job all in one" (for her, the XB, not the finance'), and I have a tool box that needs cleaned a bolts bin that needs to be sorted.....what to do? this is where I ran into a problem. I've got about two hours 'til she gets home, some eeny-meeny-miney mo's and I decided the most rewarding of the tasks would be to get started organizing all the parts and tools I'll need to stab this motor.....I better crack a beer for this. I remind myself to make sure it doesn't look like I'm celebrating her departure, so slow and easy until miss wanting wifey rolls up. At this point I'm two hours into my problem and two hours into the 'fridge but who's counting right? So bouncing boobies goes runnig up the stairs to pack, which in turn sort of gave me another problem I thought I might could alleviate, boobs willing....So she gets all loaded up(the car!) and we're standing in the garage, and she's saying...how much she's (and I'm thinking: ooh look, I do have another beer in the fridge, man I've got tools scattered all over this garage....shit, I hope she doesn't notice I'm wearing the "nice" jeans)...gonna miss me....(I wonder where my 7/16 socket is, I think I kicked it earlier, it could be under the workbench) OK bye then, be good....ABC-ya, and then I almost forgot to tell her: "Oh yeah, I'll be out of town on business when you get back! cha-ching make that six days"......the cha-ching part didn't go over so well..... So here's my problem and it may affect a couple of you....The beers kept falling out of the fridge and you all know that you can't put a beer back into the fridge(it'll turn green or something I've heard...screw it it's a guy rule. Rule 4617.a check your manual! to paraphrase it goes something like this...you get a beer out of the refer you drink it, pussy!) anyway I had a lot of beer left so I just kept on "organizing" for the engine install....and kept on....I woke up on the couch and remebered my problem. The problem is I have a part that I can't find, I am fairly organized when undertaking a project of this scope, you know keeping parts together, putting screws back into their threaded holes, and such. I looked all over my garage last night and I can't find it. I know I had quite a few beers last night but I distinctly remember NOT seeing it or picking it up or touching it. I can't find it. The part is the little spring clip that keeps the seat release tumbler in place.... The problem with not having that is,.... well, in my enthusiasm last night, I got a little carried away and confused the organizing part with the doing part, and my bike is completely finished being put back together save this one part, and yes it starts and runs. Sorry for any inconvienienice(sp?) this may have caused anyone who might've been planning on stopping by Sat morn.(there's still the X1!) |

LOL @ Sam! Damn man thats impressive! Nice work! I would love to go ride with ya tomarow but I will be out of town Hopefully we can hook up soon though and get out on the road! (by the way ever get ahold of the Steel Batallion rig?? ) Dennis check on the carb tool! Not sure yet but I might be another couple weeks out on the carb kits.. Had a family emergency and had to use some cash. If you need me to get the honda out of your hair since it will be a couple more weeks I will be glad too. My apologies I have spent the last couple days with my dad at the hospital and have had to help out with getting him the things he needs. He will be okay though so no worries but my $$ got kind of depleted. I get paid again on the 16th. I'm counting on my tax return to come back to be able to cover the riding course cost.. Let me know if you want me to get that stuff out of your hair! Are you guys meeting up on wednsday nights at the other place yet? |

Sam... Suspicious valve-train noise First, did you just remove your stock bread-box? You'll get a lot more intake noise... showing you part of the reason for the design. Second, check your primary chain. When loose, it makes noises that can be confused for "valve trouble". X1db Bike suddenly died while sitting at a light. After a few minutes I got it going again, but every time I tried to get it to idle it would idle for several seconds, then die. It doesn't matter if the bike is in gear or out, clutch in or out, sidestand up or down. To get moving I have to rev a little higher than normal and slip the clutch a bit. After riding steady without idling for a few minutes the bike seems to run ok until you try to let it idle. Then it will die in about 30 seconds. All components (sensors, injectors, etc) checked out, fuel pump suspect. Before I replaced it I jumpered it so the fuel pump would run continuously without the engine running. It would sound fine for a minute or so, then I could hear it continuously speeding up and slowing down for another minute until it ran very slowly and stopped. I think the fuel pump motor was heating up and then it wouldn't maintain steady output. Replaced fuel pump, problem solved. FYI... above info from TheX1files.com
