That's just sad. Hope Erik can land on his feet and sell some of his inventions as aftermarket accessories. My prayers are with all the employees and dealers. |

Well said Harleyelf. forgive me for being late to this game, but are you one of 'those' elves Like I read about in the book?? The website was down on Wednesday when the news came out. ebr-racewear.com was still up so I bought a t-shirt in memory of . . . . The guy built the best american bike ever. He didn't fail as a bike builder or inventor. As far as business goes, I don't know enough to do any better. |

The EBR racewear stuff is 50% off according to their FB page. |

This just makes me sick. Someone recently told me that Erik Buell was talking to Victory. Any truth to that? |

^ Your guess is good as ours. It does look like the intent of "receivership" is to allow the company to be sold intact, rather than chopped up and the pieces sold off to pay creditors. It has been published that Polaris (Victory's parent company) tried to buy Buell from HD when the shutdown was announced, but HD refused to sell. It's possible they're still interested. |

No, those elves are Buell employees who like to work in the middle of the night: I've been Harleyelf ever since 1990 when I gave a ride to a Hollywood actress and her friends coined the name while waiting for me to bring her back. Small guy, big bike. |

I hope Polaris can salvage it. They just went for such an upscale market during a recession. People with that much money, buying that kind of bike, could care less about buying American. The Panigale seems to be profitable. |

From my info Polaris is out they have just purchased a state of the art paint system for all bikes they make 35 million to be exact and they just bought Bremmo electric bikes they are barely keeping up with Indian orders also. But one never knows |

It wouldn't surprise me if Buell ended up with Polaris. Then he'd have access to the dealer network of Victory and/or Indian to move his product. Think about it, Polaris makes snowmobiles, PWCs, ATVs, and two brands of cruiser motorcycles. The missing segment of the recreational motorsports market is a kick ass sport bike. Well....... Everyone knows that Victory and Indian have caught up to and may have surpassed HD in many ways; am I the only one who has noticed that the newest HDs seem rather Victory-esque with more flowing bodywork, electronics, and pseudo-water cooling. Might be karma, if Buell ended up with HDs #1 competitor. One things for sure, Buell and his bikes would be very much embraced by Polaris and might be able to see his dream come to fruition! |

Polaris would be good for EBR. They are innovative and build first-quality products. |

Everybody buy a shirt today; EBR gear is having a sale. T-shirts under $10, long sleeve shirts under $20. Show the receivers a positive cash flow. |

EBRracewear.com (as noted in the post above) is still alive and well. They've apparently added a lot of new stuff in the last few months; I think I'll throw a few dollars their way as well. |

A couple T-Shirts here or there won't be noticed by the attorneys but it's something I (we?) can do as a show of moral support, right? I wasn't in the market for one of the EBRs but I wanted Erik to do well - still do and always will. |

In the big picture of motorcycle trading and competition, this is only the second time its been "closed down" or potentially traded... my other passion is Moto Guzzis, darn if another one didn't follow me home the other day,... anyway, the joke about Moto Guzzi...? "Moto Guzzi...been trying to close since 1921"... and of course..."Moto Guzzi, been turning riders into mechanics since 1921".... hopefully this plays true for Buell as well, they simply get traded, and kept alive with the same pedigree approach, just under a different distributor/parent company.... |

^ EBR Racewear posted on Facebook earlier this week that they are running way behind on filling orders due to so many coming in. It may take 3-4 weeks for you to get your stuff, so don't panic. |

Got my package from EBR Racewear yesterday. Ordered three shirts and a pair of sunglasses, got a pair of sunglasses and a letter saying they will not be restocking the shirts and to expect a refund in a few weeks. |

Ordered three weeks ago. Was just informed that nothing was available and my order has been cancelled for refund. I would advise waiting at least until they can update what's left before placing an order. |
