Or anyone else with this experience - I think I read that Erik had run without the TPS plugged in. What are the pros/cons to doing that? And can you still run the AE with the TPS disconnected? I'm thinking of being the guinea pig for C5 ignitions on the Blast (the owner has two Blasts and runs them, of course - I would be the first retail customer). So the two variables are RPM limit (his Blast modules are, for stock motors, limited at 7K RPM). Is 7K RPM safe (given the stock limit is 6.5K)? The other variable is the TPS - if I go this route, I would need to disconnect the TPS or have them do a custom job that would use the TPS. I'm inclined to just run without it, but I'd like to know the pros/cons from those who've done so with the Blast specifically. |

I should add that the owner has two Blasts - and he told me that 7K was just fine. Over on BOR, though, I reported his answer and got dressed down (and then talked down) by Jet-Lee. So I'm moving my question here. I don't mind NOT doing any of this. I just want an answer that doesn't smack of having a patronizing attitude or the need to display knowledge just to put someone else down. Thanks, Jay |

Unpluged your running wot curve - only difference is a a loss of fuel efficiency. EZ |

Blast stock is 6500 rpms can go up to 6800rpms safely, 7000 may be float. The C5 ignition is self correcting, but He told me 6800 rpms is where he would go with stock - wierd, but that ignition is way superior to stock and then the partial advance the tps promotes may not be necessary. Still I would talk to him a bit more get these facts nailed down. EZ |

Thanks, EZ...I'll ask him about a 6800 rpm custom job and see what that would cost. Cheers, Jay |
