ooops....too late for the forks! hey don't fix the rotor bolt hole with a heli-coil, far too much force there and IMHO the heli-coil will fail. use a time-cert for those types of applications. I am a huge fan after repairing some things on a few of my bikes that POs and butchered. time-serts are far superior! in fact they even make an oversized insert to repair a thread that was once repaired by a heli-coil...that ought to tell ya something! http://www.timesert.com/ I buy mine from here: http://www.mechanicstoolsandbits.com/time-sert-c-2 1.html?gclid=CPqY7MeFqcQCFUIR7AodmhwAiQ what thread and pitch and how deep is the hole? I may have everything here to fix it correctly..... |

Thanks David, I haven't checked it yet but I will and I'll let you know. I would definitely much rather a timesert but I didn't think we have the right size here. We have time serts and heli coils and I agree a Time sert is better. I'll get back to ya on it. |

if I know the thread size and pitch I can sort whether I have the correct tools, based on depth of blind hole I will know if I have the right depth of inserts. I have three different sizes of timeserts...I think... I've had to repair the front motor mount hole in the head and the derby cover bolt hole and one other.... |

I dont have the correct size... I went to American Sport Bike and found this: http://americansportbike.com/newdir/Item/17029 front rotor bolts are 5/16 x 18 I checked on one of my Marchessini wheels and it is a 5/16-18, it takes this kit to fix it: http://www.mechanicstoolsandbits.com/uss-coarse-thread-kits-time-sert-0561-516-inch-thread-repair-kit-p-40.html just in case someone else needs to fix one.... or.... Ill buy the kit and loan it to you for..... $30.00!!..he says in jest! (Message edited by Jolly on March 14, 2015) |

Yeah, they are. I'll trade you the swingarm for a S3 Brake Caliper |

John, I'll do that trade. It's only fair as I've been woefully terrible at remembering to return that caliper. I actually need a caliper now anyway as this bike is going to be my Dad's bike now so it wont be getting XB wheels. |

Speaking of which, I forgot about this ad; I decided to keep the wheels for the reason mentioned above. |

Perfect - I DON'T need the caliper anymore since I sold "The Prince" and that swingarm is going to be perfect for Gloria... "Hey, Gloria, Honey - You're going to need a longer chain..."
