So I'm still in the figuring out everything phase of tuning my XB, I've done a TPS reset with tuner pro and punched back the EEPROM and think I've got it all set up proper.

I've been following Xopti's guide as well
but I have a few questions

The first and foremost being, Can you convert the Narrowband output from the bike to a reasonably accurate AFR?
He mentions it in the guide but never eleorates on how to convert it over to a number.

Myu second question concerns a wide band.(I'm assuming your gonna get better results with a wideband than the o2 sensor just like a car). Has anyone ran a Innovative LC-2 and set it up to send out an analog output to the bike to mimic the stock o2 sensor?
I did some googling on that but I wasn't getting far.

Thanks guys,
Dave W.

Not an LC-2 but I have 2 MTX-Ls on my 05 Scg. You can set it up to emulate the stock O2 no problem, you can change the output pretty much however you want inside LM Programmer.

So that lets you wideband tune while its emulating for the ECM as well?

Did you use the factory o2 position?

I have the rear in pretty much the factory position, the front is near the front motor mount bracket. You can't run wideband and narrowband simultaneously. The sensors can do it as there are two outputs but there is only one input on our ECM.

I disabled all corrections and locked AFV to 100 and have the wideband signal going to the ECM right now, solely because although the ECM doesn't know what to do with the signal, it passes it through when datalogging.

I'm still tuning mine, but once it is dialed in I'm planning on turning corrections back on. At that point I'll need to set the sensor to send narrowband emulation again. At the same time you can adjust the range of voltage it sends that signal in, so when the AFV kicks in it will think it is going to stoich, but it can really be 13.5 or whatever. You can also do that by changing the midpoint in ECMSpy but I haven't messed with that yet.

I haven't really tried TunerPro so I'm not familiar with options it may have. Before you get into all that though, I was under the impression the race ECMs weren't user programmable?

I believe the Buell supplied race ECM's are not tunable, the ones that involved HD could still be tuned(I thought).
If it turns out I cant tune it then I'll go back to stock(bike came with this ecm).

SO the Wideband cand send out both outputs, so if ZI wanted to log the wideband right to my laptop I could?

I do like what your doing though that seems like a good way of going about it.

But this just hit the back burner, hit workshare this week, so at least I'll have an extra day in the week to ride!

The wideband has two programmable outputs, but (at least with the MTX-L) they are just a wire each. So one goes to the O2 input of the ECM. You could datalog with the other one but you would need something to interface between your laptop and the wideband. Also keep in mind that would just be logging the AFRs. That is why I run it through the ECM, that way it logs the AFR along with engine temp, throttle position, RPM, all the other stuff you need.
