After a long winter re-cooping, I am finally getting started building/customizing my '00 Cyclone drag bike. The wheels are black, and I wan to remove the powder coating. Any awesome ideas on products / methods of doing this without ruining them??? |

If they are indeed powder coated you can take them to your powder coater and he can bake the finish off.....I have done it quite a few times, works great. Just have to strip the bearing, seals and rotors but no biggie..... |

Some people painted. I will tell you first hand the coater Buell used did a really good job the strippers jasco and aircraft I used and elbow grease took about 16 hrs to get to metal if you are recoating them just have the powder coater take care of it otherwise I suggest the bake off method |

most powdercoaters should be able to soak them in powdercoating stripper. Thats what i use. 10 mins in the tank and the powdercoat falls off in sheets. |

Purpony, Thanks, I called a local powder coater today, and chemical removal is their preferred method. In fact, he said I should use paint remover... WTH, it's worth a try! |
