Not sorry I finally sold my '06 Uly (some of you may remember it stranded me on three straight rides) after nearly 100,000 miles. I replaced it with a 2010 Multistrada 1200S on which I put 50,000 miles, then ditched that for my current 2013 BMW R1200GS, which I love, though only 32,000 miles so far (age and illness sucks). The telling fact is this: I NEVER check the Ducati forums, but I still read BB&D diligently, out of general interest and in hopes that I can help some poor guy. Even after the Uly is gone, it still keeps a grip on ya... --Doc |

I feel ya Dr_greg... Haven't had the VTX since I replaced it with my Ulysses in '06. I still visit the Honda VTX1300 forum, mainly for entertainment... I help a rider when I can. But, it's a land of loud pipes, ape hangers, raked triple trees & fork extentions... so it becomes difficult at times to be heard. |

Dr greg, Glad you are still here even though your Uly is gone. |

100k+50k+32k good for you! I love riding, but never stack up those kind of miles. You may find another Uly that you can't pass up... |

I had a Harley Super Glide a few - I guess 7 years ago now - and couldn't stand the online forums. Like you say, all about how loud you can get your bike, and how to make it handle worse than it already did. Horrible place to spend time... |

Sorry to hear you are ill, Dr. Greg. I always like reading your posts. I hope you get well, and stumble upon another Uly that grabs you! |

"The circumference of Earth at the equator is about 24,902 miles (40,075 km)". On two Ulys that would be, in a straight line, twice around the world each. Being left stranded only three times seems amazing to me. The only new bike I have ever bought did this, 300 miles old, in a rain storm. Be well Dr G. |

Thanks, fellas. Actually I'm doing fine now, just seem to have a month (or two) every year when some mystery affliction (last year it was abdominal pain) sidelines me. Lookin' forward to more miles this year: goin' to the "Possum Trot" rally in Graham, Texas next week. Then doing a brief "Tour de Texas" afterwards. Always interested in AX news, although no more new bikes for a while... --Doc |
