Awesome! How'd you manage? Two years is a long time passed. I'd have to imagine that the odds of recovery after that long is pretty damn slim. |

That's pretty rare to get a stolen bike back. You must be a happy man! |

Glad you got your bike back....But did they catch the A** wipe that stole it? Do they still hang horse thieves in Texas?Comparable situation, right? |

Badass! Not like you can ride that thing around because its a one in a million ride! Heck if I saw that bike somewhere I might steal it myself and I am a law-abiding citizen with no criminal record:-) |

After 3 loooong years without her SHE IS BACK!!! Police busted a chop shop in south Dallas and there tucked away in the corner was my Buell. They checked the VIN number and realized it was stolen and confiscated it. I got a call on April Fools day that it was found and in a wrecking yard in South Dallas! Me and a friend made the drive and HOLY CRAP!!! There she is after 3 long year! I am as happy as a little girl right now!

Here she is back home and with the seat, gas tank and body work sitting on it! Battery is gone and ignition switch is gone...everything else seems to be there. Motor turns over and hopefully undamaged...hopefully!!

Back home and in the Stable! Now to begin the tedious task of cleaning and repairing. I may have a few questions. First one is, where can I find an ignition switch?? Need it from the switch to where it plugs into the connector! Thanks! GOOD TO BE BACK IN THE BUELL COMMUNITY!! |

WTF?! how did they find it? Looks like a good pile of bikes in there. All stolen? How much did your poor bike's miles go up? |

No wear to sprockets and tires. Stolen and stashed for 3 years! |

I bought an ignition from American Sport Bike. Works great. |

I can only imagine the water/rust damage to the internals of that motor. Sitting out in the open, uncovered with that air filter, you KNOW water got in there at some point. |

Sure you wanna clean it up? Right now it's gotta a pretty cool post apocalyptic/Mad Max thing going on. Also, any leads on who might've ripped it off? Would be nice to know some karma found it's way back to the perpetrator. Had my FJ1200 stolen once upon a time and I know the feeling. |

It was inside for the entire time! I will check with American Sportbike for the ignition! Thanks all! Can't believe I have her back. Been out in the garage cleaning on her!! |

Regardless of condition, its awesome to see you got your bike back. Certainly brings closure and a happy ending to a terrible story. Looking forward to seeing you post about your maiden voyage after getting it back together . |

Only had liability in the bike so no pay out from insurance company so The Bike Is Mine!! Yes, glad this 3 year nightmare is over! Enjoying evenings now in the mancave while bringing her back to life! I do have a question. I need the mounting bolts/grommets to mount the oil tank on the bike?! Someone here suggested well nuts. I found some at Lowes. 5/8" I believe. Just get bolts to match while you are there. http://wedo.hillmangroup.com/viewitems/steel-nuts/ expansion-nuts-well-nuts- |
