Anybody make a billet cover for the front pulley on the XB? I've found some for the tubers, but so far, that's it... |

Do you know for sure that the Champion guard that Trojan sells will fit ours? Anybody have photos of the Champion and the American Sport Bike covers installed? |

I have the RRC made one that I got from American Sport Bike OR are you taking about something that actually bolts to the pulley itself.. if so, I haven't found one yet. I was talking about the pulley gaurd.. www.xb9s.com |

I've got the one from Trojan that Dave is selling. Easy to install, and nice to look at. Now, if I could find something to accent the spinning pulley other than the nice rust tone it's already got, I'd be all over it. -Geof |

I've got the same one as Misato, but in brushed, rather than polished. It's a very close match to the frame. Crossroads makes *exactly* what I'm looking for, but for the tubers, not the XBs. They aren't planing to do a pulley skin for the XBx since "people don't like all the exposed wires, so the demand isn't there". I even asked them about a one-off, but they wouldn't give me a price other than "stupid expensive". So I'm still looking. -Geof |

Geofg what would be the OD of the pulley cover? may be able to help you |

Sweet, Bomber! That'd be cool. Um, I suspect the OD would be the diameter of the pulley, or slightly less depending on how it would attach or if it would rub the belt. I'll measure the pulley this weekend. -Geof |

crossroads makes a pulley skin for a blast. would this fit the pulley on the firebolt? lots of little stuff like footpegs and other trinkety stuff seems to fit both blast and bolts. |

Bomber -- The diameter of the outer shoulder on my front pulley is exactly 5". If you use the same holes as the existing locking plate, then the mounting holes would be exactly 2.7" apart. The plate would have to be spaced out 0.375 (3/8)" if using the existing bolt holes. Steve. |

Thanks, Steve! Bad_ass_bolt: I also asked about the Blast pulley skins. Crossroad's said they're a different size than the XB's, so they woundn't work. Good thought, though. Bomber, sounds like I may not be the only one interested in this. Let me know what you're thinking. -Geof |

Geof and Steve . . .. lemme go home and measure my lathe this evening . . . . it may handle the diameter (it was apparently designed for rifle smithing), and it it does, we're in business . . . . . Steve . . . . you wrote The plate would have to be spaced out 0.375 (3/8)" if using the existing bolt holes. I assume spacing out refers to from the pulley face, yes? you can respond either here or the the email in my profile . . . .. |

I started designing my own cover a few days ago. I'll keep you all posted on my progress. We can machine anything out of billet, but it's never cheap. Steve |

Geof and Steve did the measuring last night, and my lathe will accept the size stock I need to make a pulley . . . waiting for that last dimension . . . . |

Too cool, Bomber. The outside edge of the pulley has a shelf that is further out than the large nut in the center, so spacers of some sort would be necessary to cover the gap if the pulley skin was flat. If the skin were to have a lip (like the inside piece of a mason jar lid), then spacers might not be necessary. Steve, chime in here if I'm misinterpreting what you said. -Geof edited by geofg on April 06, 2004 |

I posted this yesterday, but apparently it didn't take: Yes, if you were to look at the profile of the cover, there is a 0.375 difference in height between the mounting surface (the locking plate) and the edge of the pulley. Also, there needs to be a relief of the same depth, about 2" in diameter in the center (I would have to check again to be sure, but it's to clear the shaft nut. If you don't have a bike to reference there, I can draft something up on AutoCAD if you have the ability to read the files... Steve.

I love the pulley cover above, but it just cost so darn much! wish there was one that didn't have such a high price tag... |
