The oil type and quantity are critical to proper function. I just want to take it apart to anodize it black. He was $175 to do so. it cant be rocket science. His price goes up every year, 175 is borderline robbery.   Phelan Posted on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 - 10:28 am:        I bought a universal damper on eBay for $30, a fork clamp for $20, and welded a nut to the frame to screw the back in. I had a Storz damper once and one from the other big name brand for tubers, though the name eludes me. Can't tell the difference. Mine is already anodized black. Works great. No headshake at all. They are from Japan and seem to be top quality. Not a week after I installed mine, I managed to hit a brick on the highway at about 70+ mph.
