Hi,
Here is the link to my Craigslist ad for my 2008 Buell XB12SS long, 12K, clean, simple and fun - $5800

Tired of writing code all day?
Last thing you want to do is more keystrokes to program the zillion functions on your bike.
Just jump on this luddite special Buell and go.
Your traction control is called "wrist", no buttons to push to adjust your suspension. Just wrap your digits around a thing called screwdriver and get intimate with your fork legs and shock settings.
Stone simple Buell has no coolant, radiator, thermostat, waterpump, belts or hoses to fail or leak.
Valve clearance is constantly adjusted by hydraulic tappets, belt drive never needs adjusting or lubing.
Go ahead and hose off any dirt, no worries about a chain getting wet, the belt won't mind.
The latest and greatest $25K Multistrada with variable cam timing manages to finally develop some user friendly low end power, producing 59 ft/lbs from 3500rpm, while this Buell tractor makes that torque at 1800 rpm already and makes over 71 ft/lbs from 2500-7400 rpm. The Ducati only starts pulling ahead above 4500 rpm, when this puppy is going 90 mph.
For day to day riding, this user friendly long stroke torquester is hard to beat. If you spend your riding close to redline or on the track, by all means talk to your loan officer and acquire a Ducati. Be aware that you can buy this Buell for what you will pay in Desmo services, higher registration and full coverage insurance for the next 5 years.
This bike is the closest in feel I have ever come to a Vincent V-twin that I owned years ago.
This well sorted 2008 Buell XB12 SS has all the important updates that came in the 2008 models (crankshaft, lubrication system, easy DIY throttle calibration etc). It is lightweight (400lbs dry) and handles great.
Currently has better Tuono mirrors, LED auxilliary light and a new XB12TT rear shock with longer suspension travel (5.63 inch instead of 4.92 of the stock 2008 XB12SS) great for taller riders, or I can fit the original shorter shock for a short 30.5 inch seat height. The longer TT shock will cost an extra $300.
Just bought a very rare (one of about 30) 2010 Buell XB12 X Ulysses, so I am thinning the herd.
Clean and clear title in hand, in my name, ready for easy private transfer. Just paid new registration, good till March 2016!
Please call or text me any day from 8 am till 10 pm Pacific Time (415)640-6832

Glad you Bjulers enjoyed that ad as much as I had fun writing it.I have owned over 100 motorcycles since my first Villiers 125 back in the early seventies, in Belgium.
One of the bikes I had a short fling with was a Norvin, and I have been saying for a long time that these long stroke XB12's are the closest experience to a Vincent one can have, at a fraction of the cost. One can probably acquire a decent Buell for the price of a Vincent gasket/ bearing/ seal kit. I have owned 2 1125R's and for me, an XB12 has a more satisfying, instant torque.
