I have the PM rims on my 2002 M2. If I buy a 180 rear tire how much wider can I expect it to be (I currently have a 170) and is there any rubing potention problems I should be worried about? |

Should be fine[10MM wider overall,5MM from center]PM wheels are 1\2 in. wider[which is good for the 180]Tire hugger clearance should be fine, check to make sure. |

I'm running a 180 on my 02 S3T with no clearance issues. I have the stock nuclear blue wheels so it will suck the tire in a bit more than the PMs but you shouldn't have any problems. |

The 180 will work fine. I ran them on the old X1 with the cast wheels and never had any problems. They will fit even better on the PMs Uwgriz, I may have something for you if your still looking? Ride to the edge! Dave |

Can you really tell the difference between a 170 and a 180? |

Some riders can and some (most) can't. It has more to do with the rider than the bike or the tire. The wider 180 looks better to just about everybody though. |

Called Dunlop yesterday about the tire pressures they have listed on their website since it was a great deal different than what was listed in my S2 manual... They stated their recommendation is for max tire wear, where the Buell recommendation was/is for ride-ability... Anyway it was stated that the 205 is being discontinued.. The recommended replacement for the S2 is the 208 & 220, with the 220 giving the better mileage... Could be some great deals on 205's |

I liked the 205's, but was not happy with my rear D220. YMMV, but there are a lot of really good tires out there. |

I was concerned with the tire rubbing on the belt. Thanks with all the great responses! |

I run 180 race scuff tires on my X1 there is plenty of room. I have no Idea if stock tires will clear the belt or not. It handles so much better on the race tires I dont have any plans to change. |

front....120/70....scuff Rear......180/55...scuff I feel that I can lean a little futher. It may be that I just trust the bike a little more.It could be all in my head but I think the bike just handles a lot better |

I hear having a wider rear tire makes the bike handle worse. I think it makes the bike more difficult to turn? Is this true? Regards mike |

Mike....That is like asking is a short girl better than a tall girl. The more power you add to the bike the more traction you have to have. The team that I work with has added to our race parts 161/2" rims and have mounted 190 tires our riders say the added traction is worth it. |
