I was wondering if the measurements were available out there?
I have access to a machine shop here at work but my garage is so far away and deep under white hell.

I'm sure I could improvise something but I would rather clone Crusty's OFFICIAL device.

Send him a PM. I'm sure he'll respond.

I still need one. I've been thinking about talking to someone with a 3-d printer....

I would not feel right sending out the specs for something he built for a lot of us. I'll send him a note to look at this thread.

Guys; feel free to make a bazootie on your own. I have no patent on it, and even if I did, I wouldn't dream of stopping you from making one.
I don't have any of the original measurements. I'll look outside in the garage and see if I kept mine after I sold my XT to Froggy. If I did, I'll measure it with my trusty Starrett dial verniers. If not, I'd suggest you just measure the distance between the clutch cable and bar enough to pull the cable back out of the line of sight so you can see the odometer window. Measure the diameter of the bars and the diameter of the outer cable, and have at it! That's basically how I did it.
I made the bazooties as an "enhancement" for Homecoming 2007. They were my contribution to making Buell ownership a bit more enjoyable. It really tickled me when the factory started installing handlebars with tabs to hold the clutch cable.

They were my contribution to making Buell ownership a bit more enjoyable.

I doubt anyone has done more from their home to enhance the Buell experience than Crusty.

I will post up pictures and measurements later today.

Well here it is.

The big end hole is the size of the cross bar, the other end hole is the size of the cable, the piece is split long ways with a threaded hole in the center to screw the halves together over their perspective parts.

Thanks again Crusty!

Pure genius. . . . mine is still lovingly packed in plastic . . . it's both a great piece and great art.

There is something about that which is created by hands guided by passion.

I like the way Crusty thinks, does and eats.

All wonderful traits in a friend.

I didn't get one from Crusty but did see the pictures and therefore while waiting for a lock out procedure to take place, I had some spare time and a piece of scrap aluminum so I made a copy. Still on there and still working. Gotta love simple!

cable is 5/16" and bar is 5/8". 1-1/2" (c-c) between the two seems about right and a 7 degree angle for the cable looks pretty close to me.

I am in contact with a teacher off the PNWRiders site who is interested in small projects like this for his class. He has 3D printers, CNC mills etc. If he wants to pursue this, I'll see about getting him to join and post on this thread.
I'll keep you all informed.

If they're looking for a steady stream of little projects on a continual basis, perhaps the thing to do would be to open a new thread and make it semi-permanent.
Like a request line for a radio station.
Sounds like a good way of drumming up practice and perhaps even some cookie money as well : )
