So can anyone tell me about these type of Lithium batteries? Do I need to do anything diffrent to my bike?
How often do you charge them?
I know it is a special charger
Any info appreciated

Are you talking about batteries like Shorai?

I have a Shorai on my Concours 14. They are lighter than air, or at least feel that way compared to a lead acid type battery. I bought it because of the claims of being about to go a long time idle without a tender. I'm not a believer. They do need a special charger/tender if you intend to just let them sit on a tender. After my experience I will stick to conventional batteries in the future considering the cost different.

Look at battery tender lit ion batteries. That's what I bought. The bike sat for a year and it started right up. No tender needed. Smaller and pitcher two with a good warranty from what I recall.

I bought a Ballistic for my S2 last February and I've never charged it, the bike has always started right up. But then again, I've ridden almost every day since then so no need for a tender in my case. We'll see how it holds up now that I'm commuting on the Uly and the S2 is being torn down for restoration.

So as long as the bike is used normally there should not be charging and if it sits they make a special charger. Did any of you go with a small battery as I am looking to save space?

The one I purchased from battery tender is much smaller than my stock battery. If you go on their website, you can type in the make and model, it will give you the proper lit ion battery. They have more cranking amps than the lead acid. Another benefit is that they can be mounted vertically, horizontally, upside down.
