Good question, Vagelis. Hero (not Team Hero/EBR) actually posted a photo to Facebook this week showing May and Yates as if they were riding again this season. Hopefully the publicity efforts will improve soon. |

I have a question.... How loud is a stock EBR without the side exhaust ???. In Philip Island this weekend there is a support class to the WSBK , which was the australian superbike... The EBR 1190RX was racing in this class with Chas Hern as the rider, and there was no side exhaust used .So they managed to reach the noise limits without the side exhaust.. On the other hand the WSBK EBR team is using a side Arrow exhaust. What is the deal ? When will we get some info on this ? |

Vagelis what we have been able to surmise is EBR is running a second (side) exhaust because the stock bike has a second muffler and the race bike is caught in some rule interpretation that says you have to run something that looks stock. |

46champ , I am not totally convienced about that .... Maybe it is the noise limits , maybe it is the search for more power.... We must get info from the Hero EBR Team .... Anyhow...lets hope for the best results for Nick and Larry...and most importantly they finish both races and away from any crash... Philip Island is dangerous track...riders have bad crashes and injuries... Nick will do much better at tracks where the top speeds are lower...... The season have just started ..... |

Canepa's best lap in the warm up session was 1:32.957, faster than his time in SP1 of 1:32.998. |

In the AMA .... was the EBR good at managing the tires over race distance ?? Nick said that the EBR is well balanced and it is easy to ride fast and this gives consistant times ...Philip island is very tough on tires...so if the EBR saves the tires well.... he might get to the top 10.... |

***** SPOILER ALERT ********* AARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Nic ran as high as 15th place, but crashed on about lap 15. I hope he's OK. Larry picked up 2 spots and finished 18th, which is respectable, especially considering he's been sick all week. All i had access to was live timing, so if one of you guys that was able to watch it could provide more info, I'd really appreciate it. (Message edited by Hughlysses on February 21, 2015) |

The race was fantastic .... Vey strong performances by Rea and Haslam....But Rea was very determined for the win .... Also Ducati looked very competitive... Bad news for EBR...an injury for Canepa is the worst scenario ...... |

According to Nic's Facebook page, it's only a sprain, so that's very good news, but he won't be able to make race 2. I did notice he hit something like 309 KPH peak speed, which I believe is considerably better than they did last year. Larry didn't go nearly that fast. |

OOps...................Does this require a spoiler alert?????........................... Does 14th place give Pegram points for EBR/Hero? Or do they mean the values from the two races? Is Larry the first and second rider to get points for us?? (Message edited by Ducley on February 21, 2015) (Message edited by Ducley on February 21, 2015) |

Nice start for this year! Pegram's 14th place in race 2 puts him at 18th in the standings this year so far. Can only hope Nic heals up well to continue the pace he showed in R1. Go EBR! |

It was encouraging to see Niccolo exceed 190 mph at Phillip Island. Last year at this time, the best EBR could do at Phillip Island was 170 mph. This is only round 1. Let's hope for the best. |

I was really impressed by Vandermark and Torres. 2 rookies that had the pace to run with the fastest bikes&riders. Especially Vandermark exceeded all expectations on the Honda. He was leading race 2 .......unreal! A really bad weekend for Suzuki and Lowes in particular.... He was fastest all weekend, but on Sunday there were problems...... and he had a 9th and DNF |

Nic was running well until just before the crash. Wonder if it blew an engine at a very inopportune time and kicked him off? EDIT: On the SBK web site, Nic repots that "a technical issue" between turns 1 and 2 caused the crash. One rumor has it that Nic lost an engine in practice. Does this mean he is now two engines down? The "Nic's bike was much faster than Larry's bike" may be that Nic was drafting. Hard to say since no EBR's were shown during the race, in action. Ducati pretty much showed that they are not only competitive this year, but determined. Aprillia is still by far the fastest in a straight line, and the Honda is surprisingly fast. The Suzuki, like last year is blindingly fast until oily parts exit the engine. They can do better than that. On the other hand, their MotoGp bike was having similar issues in early testing. Quite respectful of Nic to allow the American to be the first to score points on the US mark. Pretty cagey to allow the team manager to draw first blood. NOW the fangs come out! Get well soon Nic. If this is how the rest of the season goes, I'm loving the new rules!!!! It was a dogfight both races for just about everyone from the front to back. LOVED IT! |

Looks like it was the Honda holding Jonny Rea back. This year he's on competitive machinery; should be interesting... |

"Quite respectful of Nic to allow the American to be the first to score points on the US mark." Agreed! It was so nice of Nic to allow Larry to score a point last season at LS! lol |

I'll try taking a stab at answering this. No, I'm not affiliated with EBR in any way and have no real "inside scoop" so to speak (although I do know several guys there that are very current on info and chat with them regularly), but the factory underslung race exhaust is just simply too loud for some of the tracks they run on. Running the high-up/side mount exhaust has nothing to do with it "looking like stock". I know why they're using the Arrow exhaust specifically. They're one of Pegram's sponsors. Down on the belly pan, all the stickers are there. If it weren't for the noise restrictions, they'd be running the regular race can they developed on the 1125, it's the same thing on the 1190RS model. Apparently at Phillip Island, noise isn't as big of a concern, that's why Chas was able to "get away with" running the exhaust he did.

Update on Canepa: http://www.worldsbk.com/en/news/2015/Injured+Canep a+sure+about+Thailand+return Apparently he snapped a tendon in his left ankle, but they have to wait until the swelling goes down to be sure. He says he's sure he'll make the next race. |
