Looks like this project has had a wee bit of "scope creep". What is the overall goal, Jeremy? Obviously you're planning on doing more than fixing a bad transmission bearing. |

No, the scope has always been a total teardown and rebuild. Powder coat, new bearings where needed, refreshed top end. I have a project charter, we are following the project specification document and the project is above the line. |

OK- gotcha. It's for sure a tuber is easier to work on than an XB. Good luck with it. Hopefully we'll see it next month. |

I don't know that I would give the nod to tubers for ease of working on them. I don't remember having to spread the frame on the XB. |

Dont need to spread the frame lower the frame fown put the isos in the frame put a little lube where they touch the pivot block and press down it will slide right in place have done this on 4 diffrent builds and works slick. |

Stay on track build looks great. There is no better way to get to know your bike I did this same thing and with the help from everyone on this board I know this bike and every part like its part of me. |

Working on the little things now, but will be sending out the big items next: Heads out for P&P, intake done, cam cover cut down, shock to be rebuilt, body parts out for powder, aluminum bits out to be anodized. Transmission to have new bearings. Still need to buy oil lines and fittings, oil tank, rocker box conversion kit. Lastly, need to have tank and fender painted and have seat resculpted. |

Dropped the transmission off to have new bearings pressed in. Pipes and front caliper painted. Pics to follow. |

They show the exhaust where the exit is. It's a performance mod. |

Have to make sure I arrange the new ones with the arrows pointing forward or the bike will be stuck in reverse. |

If you also reverse the rotation of the tires the bike will levitate. |

Doesn't look too bad once you get the carbon carved off of it.

Tip for next time. Slide rubber hoses on the head studs to prevent piston damage. You can probably dress that nick out and reuse the piston if you aren't doing upgrades. |

Yeah, I wasn't really worried about it since I've got new pistons going in. |

Are you going to split the cases, pull flywheels apart re build bottom end? |

No. Splitting the cases is the only thing I'm not going to do. |

There is no free play with any of the bottom end. |

You should take this opportunity to seal the plug where the stator wires come out. They tend to seep there. |
