curious as to how the stock ecm handles noise abatement for xb12 bikes. Is it a timing reduction in correlation with muffler valve operation? I'm curious as to the selection " ramp out power limiter " under noise abatement tab. definition is ramp out instead of switching off in the operating manual for my ecmspy. If you deselect the option, is that feature turned off? I've read a lot of threads and I haven't found anything yet on it. Thanks for help guys! |

I am completely NOT sure of any of this firsthand, but thought I read on BadWeb that the XB9 used noise abatement in the form of timing at certain RPM/TPS% and not the XB12. Makes sense, if the XB9 doesn't have a muffler valve like the XB12 does. I have not yet had time to look at my recently uploaded XB12 EEPROM's to see if anything like this is happening on my bike. |

this is screenshot of spy noise abatement page. options 3 and 4 are checked when eeprom is loaded and to know more about my 07 xb12x is reason for question.

Sorry, not going to be any help here. I have the last freeware version, and I see no such screen or option as "noise abatement" looking at my stock '06 EEPROM with ECMSpy 1.12.27. I do see something on the Diagnostics page called "White Cable" on/off that I have no idea what that is. I have not gotten through the ECMSpy tuning manual yet, though. |

Thanks for looking Arcticktm. Could i get a copy of that version of spy from you. I have one older than that on laptop and its always good to have a backup. I put new spy on a notebook. Much smaller and easier handling for logging. white wire is a xb9 noise abatement thing. Actually, thats all thats noted in literature is for xb9. Thats reason for question, does xb12x have anything like it. |

I thought the white wire on the 12 was the muffler valve. |

I guess to answer my own question, tuning version 2, speaksof white wire mod for xb9, and muffler valve for 12 for noise abatement. No more double post here on as super bowl is over. Wasnt paying attention to typing. at least we can get on to kelly and stanley cups now! |
