Thought I would give the gang here first shot before Eb__. Got these a while back. Was thinking of doing the motor this winter, but life has gotten in the way. Brand new in original box Thunderstorm heads, ported and polished by NRHS (per previous owner). I don't have a NRHS receipt, but my Buell guru mechanic is really impressed with these, and he has seen many while building drag bikes. You won't be disappointed, $650.00 shipped to the US.

If they were done by us, that's stage 1, as those are stock springs, valves, and retainers. The ports look good from what I can see, and the heads have been decked to squish, for setting proper squish band thickness via head/base gaskets. |

Ross - how would those like being on an S3T? What cams would you recommend? Got a carb'd 98 here (factory thunderstorm engine) I'm rebuilding...gradually...stock exhaust (and that is staying)... |

The springs are limited to .500" lift, so if you have N4s, those are the cams to use. Should see about 5-10 HP over stock Tstorms with these heads, more difference with higher lift cams (which would require different springs). (Message edited by phelan on January 21, 2015) |

Stage one is the way to go in my opinion. Nice heads. |

I vote for a set of Andrews N8's. Same intake cams as the N4's but the exhaust cams have a little stiffer duration to take advantage of that gorgeous exhaust port you got there. You can use the stock springs and lifters like you can with the N4's. |

All, thanks for the inputs. They are going out today to a BWB member. |

I don't recall polishing the combustion chamber, but that sure looks like my porting work. I also NEVER polish the intake port as that actually slows the air-fuel stream. that's a bad thing. Zack P.S. - Joe if you got this set, send them to me and I'll texture the intake tracts properly. No charge, just pay the ride. |
