So, is this an S2 gathering? Or an EBR/NRHS event? |

I'm with Lynrd. Nice to have a Buell-friendly establishment behind this. Not interested in an EBR but would ride one if it was available. Not interested in a dyno if it's not about making my bike run right. The date is good for me. Looking forward to it!!! Like Eric asks.... where are we stayin'? |

Ooops on both my suggestions. Lyons has only small B&Bs. The Jade Inn is a Ft. Collins. |

I'm in Fort Collins; it's only 18 miles to Berthoud from here and I can ride out with anyone heading to Berthoud from here. |

Fort Collins also has a lot more options for food and beverage than Berthoud, though Longmont is slightly closer to Berthoud (south of instead of north of) and is closer to Estes Park I believe. |

Killing time at work. (Love my "job".) I see hwy 34 leads to the fun stuff. I've cross-referenced motels with brew pubs! I'm a bloody genious! Again, the Jade Inn looks like our kinda place. Can't get a price quote on-line and I'd want to ask the owners about some reviews. Any cheaper and you're really into mold and mildew. But the Big Beaver Brewing Company is not far away and features a "Whiskey Dick Stout" and a "Big Woody IPA." Alternatively, a little up-scale, including a pool and hot tub, the Rodeway Inn has a couple of brew pubs nearby. (Walking distance.) Can't get an on-line price quote beyond July 9 but $117 then. It's maybe big enough that we could share (shiver) with the EBR and XB crowd. LOL. Ft. Collins doesn't have a good correlation between brew pubs and motels. But if Ross could find one in his hood, that would be a fine thing too. I'm thinking that there aren't many empty rooms in this area mid-summer. And yay Roger! How about Art? we are working on lining up hotels/motels for folks to stay. Should have something soon but if you want to look I recommend the ones at exit 235 at I-25 which is the Longmont exit. This is not an S2 only event. It is open to all Buells and EBRs but we are honoring S2s at the event. (Message edited by buelliedan on January 14, 2015) |

I would love to go!! I'm on the fence but not leaning either way, which at this point is still a good sign. with new baby schedule is a little up in the air, but Wife has not put the kabosh on it yet, she truly understands how much these bikes and this community mean to me...so there is a real good chance I can do this. what's more of the "up in the air" part is any unknown pop-ups with baby as we near July. I'm till looking at: 3 days to get there 3 days in the local area 3 days to get home 1 day off to re-collect myself prior to work 10 day total trip.....so trying to balance that into the mix..... it would be a great road trip if the 4 of us could get together for the trip out.... |

For me the S2 Rally is primarily about S2's and their owners. A big plus is location. The only one I have missed was the Texas Two-Step. (made it to Colorado, the U.P., the Ozarks, and last year the Trinity Alps. I had been to the Hill country before on my S3 and other obligations pushed me out or I would have been there as well. But to me, location is everything. Do I want to ride to a freeway intersection to stay in a chain hotel on the second floor with my bike out of sight? No. Eric is right about the Jade Inn. It has the rooms next to each other, the parking in front of the rooms, conducive to standing around talking bikes, affordable, etc. For that we would make the trip, even though this year we would be on our other bikes as part of a much longer journey. If a decision could be made soon so we can get reservations for that weekend that would be a good thing. All we need to decide as S2 enthusiasts is where do we want to stay as a group. Because being together is what makes it a memorable weekend. Shane |

Amen to Shane's comments. Is the Jade Inn in Loveland? It is the only one I am finding. |

I just want to clarify something. I have not endorsed any hotels for folks to stay at. I merely suggested some motels that I know of in the area. I have not had time yet to search around for other motels for the group but folks are more than welcome to offer up suggestions if they know a good one. Loveland is where I would recommend. Estes Park is beautiful but that time of year the city will have tens of thousands of tourists and the roads will be literally 10 mph into and out of town. As for this being an S2 only event. I'm sorry but I am not doing this just as an S2 rally. I want to have a lot of activities for folks to enjoy and to justify that we need more than 20 people showing up. The S2 group is more than welcome to organize their own rides and i am planning on doing some special things just for the S2 folks as well. Remember I do own a 1996 S2. Get with Phelan on this forum about any special S2 activities you might want us to do. He is responsible for that part of this event. |

Hi guys, in conjunction with Dan's post, I'll clarify and provide some more info as well, after talking with Dan and Eric both, gaining clarification of my own. Roundup In The Rockies Round 2 is still on, but it will be conducted alongside the larger Buell/EBR rally here at NRHS. There will be activities and plans unique to S2s and their owners, but we will also share activities and time with the other attendants, taking advantage of Dan's hospitality and hard work invested in entertainment and fellowship. A lot of things are still up in the air, including hotels, and we as S2 owners are free to branch off on our own venture or agenda at any time if the group wants to do that at some point, so I'm open to suggestions. I've never been to Estes Park in July but from what I've heard from Dan it is packed full in the summertime, with traffics being very congested all the time in the area. It's also not particularly close to Berthoud, though not particularly far either, at ~50 miles out. Loveland or Fort Collins would be great places for hotels, as Loveland is ~10 miles north of Berthoud and Fort Collins 8 north of Loveland. As I mentioned, I live in Fort Collins as well. There are tons of pubs in both Fort Collins and Loveland, though your guess is as good as mine as to which is better. |

I am picturing that we could select a hotel that we, the S2 Gathering would be happy at, the also has room for the rest of the EBR/NRHS or would be close to other hotels for the larger group as well. I've posts as much on the S2 Facebook page but would in the end, direct the FB page back to here. |

IMHO : Most family reunions include all of the relatives of the same name, this should be no different. I for one am bringing the S1W and the S2. |

Loren, Eric, other S2 enthusiasts. I just went ahead and made reservations for Macy and I for July 10,11,12 at the 2Eagle Resort. We have the Lil'Moose unit. We decided that having a place worth riding to is tops on the list. It looks close enough to the action to be convenient, but a great locale and ambiance. If everyone decides to stay somewhere else that is fine, but if some of you join us we can have a party. Shane |

Shane, I agree with having someplace worth riding to is tops on the list along with seeing old friends. I booked "The Fisherman" for same dates. (actually will arrive Thursday, just to have an extra day to relax) Looking forward to seeing you again and meeting your wife. Loren (Message edited by gowindward on January 20, 2015) |

You'll find me in "The Bird", next to you guys. (I thought if I mentioned your names you might get an advertising discount) There's extra room if someone needs a bed. Nice folks! I told them we had bikes, they're going to clear the carport for those that wanted it. Shane - I hear you're so excited about the gathering you wanted to be there in June!!! |

Yeah, good thing I double checked the calendar. Good to hear we will have company. The site is about 35 miles from Dan's shop so it will be easy enough to get there. |

All righty then. We're in. In the Moose Room. Which has a couple of (deluxe) bunk beds, should anyone need to share. We're booked for the Friday and Saturday. Might add the Sunday after some mapping. |
