It's one of the reasons there are several legal criteria for something to be a "gift". The 2nd of them are that it must be received as a "gift" by the person getting it. There was a time you could bankrupt a person by "gifting" There is an entire occupation of "contest entered". My parents, years ago, won a $10,000 VIP trip to the Super Bowl. There were 10 winners of the Nestle contest and mom and dad were the only ones who weren't pros. Folks follow contests and enter many contests ..... Hundreds of times each and make a living selling the prizes. We are biased by our perspective ...... We, as motorcyclists, think folks want motorcycles.
