Bob;I'm still around,I sold my "97 M2 to a guy from Idaho back in July, then my wife talked me into trading the BMW GS I had in for a cruiser style bike(something I never thought I would own again),she had a hard time getting on the back seat of the very tall GS.So now I am down to one bike,it's a 2013 Triumph Thunderbird Storm, definatly NOT a sport bike, but, very fun, torquey and good handling for the style bike it is.If you can stand hangin'with me and my Blimey Bike this spring I'm ready to ride!!!! |

Glad to see you're still around Robert and at my age now I have thought very seriously about a cruiser also but I love the Buell too much and will just ride it into the sunset, and occasionally with my soft bags on board. Some days it IS a bit of a tough ride but I'm trying to stay in shape and ride well. I will be right at home riding with a Triumph as I still have a healthy respect for the Brit bikes from the "old days" and my '67 BSA Hornet scrambler. I checked out your bike and its really impressive; nice H.P., unreal torque and looks great. Nice ride my friend. Maybe you, Mike Bugby and I can get a ride in this coming year, I hope so and hope your now completely well with what problem you have had. Stay safe bud. Bob |

Welcome back Chuck, good to see you back on the Badweb, hope your new Uly will be better than the old one! I hope to ride to Southern Utah this year for the Hwy 12 loop and maybe some camping in Zions area. I don't think I'll be able to get away to AZ Springfast since I have a work commitment on the afternoon of May 23rd. Would love to meet you one of these years Bart! Exciting things are happening for Erik Buell, the new bikes look great and Motorcyclist devoted nine pages to the EBR company and the 1190RX. Bob, any idea if they'll be out at Miller again this year? |

Chuck, how are you on building electronics? Here's a cool write-up on building a wireless ECM Spy connector: http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/Do-It-Yourse lf-Buell-Mods/How-To-Build-your-own-Wireless-ECMSp y-cable Also I've been browsing the badweb archives today, and last year I told someone I had parts to build another cable (he didn't take me up on the offer), so I think I need to scour my garage - I prolly just misplaced the package with the usb pigtail (mouser PN TTL-232R-5V-WE FTDI) If I can locate it I'll get a cable built. Gonna be at my sister's for Easter activities this evening so I'll dig a bit tomorrow. |

Congrats Chuck! Heard the first half of the show on the way to work this morning, I knew what happened as soon as you said you were heading to the garage. Perhaps the check engine light is the exhaust servo. |

Yes, it is. I actually picked up the plug that shorts from Al. Seems like a neat little dongle to keep in the top case. It's throwing code 21 and I verified talking to the seller of the Uly about it as it has an aftermarket pipe. Runs like a dream The BT thing looks pretty cool. I may have to take a stab at trying to build one of those, though I don't have any great skills with electronics (like that's ever stopped me hehehe) Also, I see listings like this on EBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Buell-XB-1125-ECM-ECMSPY-Bluetooth-Adapter-Android-Tuner-Pro-/191022138755?fits=Make%3ABuell You know, just in case, I start a fire... Fire? Oh yeah, I forgot about the light that having an aftermarket exhaust would throw. Having an XB free garage has been... blissful (as much fun as the TT was to ride and work on) the M2 is so much easier... I didn't even work on it for fun this winter! Regarding blue tooth, if your iPhone isn't jail broken and you don't want to mess with it I've got a Palm TX (has blue tooth) with ECMSpy on it, you are welcome to use it for some extended data logging and such if you'd like to give it a whirl - it just sits on the desk these days since my kiddo got a tablet. |

Mike,(Littlebuggles), first I do not believe EBR will be doing any AMA racing at all this year but a few privateers will be running either 1125's or the new 1190's. EBR's total factory effort will be in WSB. And I do not see where Millers has even has an AMA race on their agenda this year. AMA looks like their down to only six events this year. A real shame since Daytona motorsports acquired AMA. One California event is the Superbike shootout scheduled for this weekend and televised on MAV TV channel 214 if you have DirecTV. Link here: "http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/158 664/735579.html?1398455553" Welcome back Chuck. Hope we can get in a ride together this year along with Mike, Robert and with any others. |

Just found this guys from several motorcycle magazines: "The Superbike Shootout series kicks off this coming weekend, April 26-27, with the Yamaha SoCal Nationals held in conjunction with Fastrack Riders and WERA at Auto Club Speedway, in Fontana, California........" "After its inaugural race weekend, the GEICO Motorcycle Superbike Shootout Presented by Yamaha moves north to Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, California for the Pacific Nationals hosted by AFM on May 3-4, then concludes with the Mountain Nationals at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah hosted by UtahSBA & MOM races on May 24-25." Confirmed by Geico here: "http://www.superbikeshootout.com/geico-becomes-tit le-sponsor-geico-motorcycle-superbike-shootout/" But no info from MMP website except the MOM race that date. I'll be there for sure. |

Guys, here is the daily schedule for the MOM races, round 2, including the Geico Superbike shootout from the USBA website for May 25th: "http://utahsba.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/2014 _Daily_Schedule_MoM_ProSuperBike_May.pdf" Official Geico website anouncement here: "http://www.superbikeshootout.com/pro-superbikes-sp ortbikes-returning-miller-motorsports-park/" And if you cannot make the days racing it will be "live streamed" from this site: "http://www.ignitemedia.tv/live_stream.html" Have fun riding this year and lets all be real careful out there. Okay guys, it's still early season for Utah, but I'm off work from Saturday, May 31 until Tuesday June 3rd and haven't got anything planned (not sure about if my wife has plans for me or not)... in case anyone wants to do a local-ish ride. Highway 12 continues to call out to me, that ride is definitely gonna happen this year. Thanks for the race update Bob, Looks like I'll be riding the bike up to Shelly/Idaho Falls area this weekend. Maybe I can pull up the live stream, appreciate the link! Chuck, have you been following the EMCspy droid/ blue tooth thingy thread? Might be something fun for you if you've not gotten your blue tooth plug yet: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/736624.html?1400607298 I hope your "new" Uly is continuing to please. |

Mike, glad to see you're getting at least some saddle time in. Tell me about Rt 12. My wife and I recently did a car tour of Shoshone falls up near Twin falls on the snake river and it was quite beautiful scenery. It would have been better on the bike but was nice enough. It really rivals Niagara for beauty and was not at full flow yet. See picture below. And last weekend I did a special ride with my son Mike over Monte Christo to Bear lake. It WAS special because we don't get to do rides together all that often. Planning Wolf creek sometime soon so anybody that would like to join us let me know and we'll make arrangements for date and time. Picture also below; sorry for the bad cropping but I wanted a picture and we had to take them separately.

Wow, yeah, six month gap in posts, so I guess we're effectively out of service in this thread... Hope everyone (pretty sure that's just you Bob) has had a pleasant and safe holiday season and has a great new year. There's a thing in Colorado July 10-12, 2015. Looks like I may be able to go, depending on when the wife's family reunion is, announced on the XBoard: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/753199.html?1420114266 Still gotta put those new gears in due to sloppy engagement in first... hopefully I'll be able to ride more once that little project is done. |

Thanks much for posting Mike & Bart. Looks like only us seasoned riders are left here as Buell interest has waned. Mike, hope you get the gearbox sorted out and can make that ride. Lets think about meeting sometime this summer and riding Wolf Creek pass. Shades of 2002 when interest fell off here also. And Bart, glad to see your still around. I haven't seen many posts by you lately but I'm not on the "old school" thread on BadWeb much since I sold my M2. That ride you guys do looks awful inviting every year but logistically I just cannot make it. My best to all who do ride it and stay safe all. I'll be around here, probably until I ride into the final sunset, so post once in a while if you would like. Ride on my friends, stay well and stay safe. Bob |

Hey Bob, Yep, still around, still riding the 1125. Sold one of my S2's, still have a basket case I swear I'll put together some day So I don't hang out in the tuber section too much anymore either. I spend a lot of time on Advrider now. I ride Colorado fairly often, drop me a line if you decide to ride Wolf Creek. That's one of the many great rides in Colorado. Lake City is another... I've been venturing your way, last summer I rode the Utah Back Country Discovery route, UTBDR. Quite an experience, and some gorgeous country! Looking forward to exploring more of the 4 corner states both on, and off road. |

Bart, the Wolf creek I was referring to is one here in Utah just east of Kamas, a nice 20 mile ride over a pass with some nice 90mph sweepers and high alpine scenery that is beautiful. I know you have one in Colorado also that I will try and ride some day as I've heard it is outstanding also. Hope we can also ride together someday. Until we meet, stay safe my friend. Ooohrah from a grunt.('60-'63). Bob Wolf creek pass, Ut. May 17th. 8200 ft. below. Some snow in the hills but road was clear and fast.

Hey Dora, things are really slow here. Glad you got your bike out here, sorry I wasn't any help with that. Bob sold his 1125 this year, had it listed on KSL for a little while, so I think he's out. Brandon dropped off a couple years ago. Saxon obviously still says hello occasionally. Testcase (Chuck) doesn't check in here but still rides his Buell. And I ride to school and around town, but am working full time, going to school and family time tends to consume most of my other riding for fun... and I tend to avoid riding clubs, because I seldom do recreational riding and prefer to ride moderately I don't like the sport bike clubs and the Harley guys, well they aren't that into Buell. |

Buellers from TN, Vince Mehaffey (Dragonslayer) and his wife Pam blew a tire and are in the hospital here in Salt Lake, checking for details to see if there is word on where and what we can do to help. Just a heads up if you have free time or space, not sure how the bike fared, he's gonna need surgery. |

Mike, Jeff, Robert and a hello to Dora. Well its been quite a while since I posted here and YES I have somewhat moved on in my life. Now at 74 years young I have sold the greatest bike I have ever owned but will still check in here occasionally as I will never quite be the same again after my experiences with Erik, the Elves, EBR and the many fine people I have met here on our Utah forum and on BadWeb. I greatfully hope Erik and Bruce (Belfer) gets back up and running soon. I still lust after an 1190 SX or RX. I thank each and everyone of you I have ridden with and stayed safe with. The rides with you guys and gals have been some of the best times of my life. Thanks again. Lately though, through spring, the only rides I have had, have been with my son Mike on his fine SV1000 Suzuki and as he is now in full swing with his own family and doing ATV's we have not gotten together much SO......time came to move on. Three other things have prompted me to make the change; I have stayed safe riding for 60 years, yes since I was 14 y.o. knock wood. 2. I always felt I would know when it was time to hang up the leathers and what better time then on top of my riding experiences, and 3. Since my beautiful wife Karen has not ridden with me for a number of years it was time to get something we could both cruise in comfortably and spend more time with in the autumn of our years. I thank her for giving me 8 fine years on the 1125R. Enter a nice find I made on KSL from Idaho and a really nice restored '95 Camaro Z28 6 spd. convertible pictured below. Thanks again to all my friends here, past and present for all the many good times we had riding together and the friendship we shared, so stay well, stay safe and Godspeed all. I hope to see some of you on the road again. I still run the canyons. Bob

Bob - I had heard (word on the street) that you had sold the 1125 - glad you are well. Jwag - how big are the parts you need powdercoated? I've been using Trackstar for bits up to about the size of wheels. |
