My m2 is flooding sometimes. Sometimes to the point there is gas dripping from the air filter. What should I check? | ||

Sticky float needles or crap keeping them from closing! How does she Idle any Lean condition?. Is there a Fuel Filter? In a nut shell Lean Idle and sticky needle mixed with the lack of filter most likely = crap in the fuel Runs rides great leaks when parked most likely = worn or sticky float needles and seats You Tube has tons of knowledge on how to diagnose and Rebuild. | ||

So will idle and run well if running hard. Sometimes go to start and it will flood out after it starts for a second. Plugs show running rich. What is a good rebuild kit? Genuine James ? (Message edited by Mhlunsford on January 12, 2015) | ||

ethanol buts barnacles into the carburetor. if one of those crusty scabs gets between the needle and seat you get the symptoms you describe. | ||

You might get away with just dropping the bowl and cleaning the needle seat with a wood toothpick. It sounds like the carb is almost not messed up  | ||

Tap on the carb bowl with the wooden handle of a hammer several times. Turn petcock back on and see what happens. | ||

Go to the marina and buy ethanol-free fuel. Drop the float bowl and scrub it and the float needle seat clean with a toothpick and starting fluid on a paper towel. Change your fuel line and filter. Run a cup of the new fuel through the float needle seat before replacing the float bowl. If it runs well when not overflowing, your problem is early on in the flow path. |
