Thanks again. I have ordered the air intake kit and the 175,46 jets from Dan. I am trying to do all the mods in one go. I will probably get the header and the Can ordered next week. Vicenzajay, I will pm you once I have gotten hold of all the parts. I should probably start another thread of putting all the mods together for future newbies like myself |

It's great to have a newbie perspective, but try to find a thread that matches your project and add there. It's the best way to get it read (we have far too many threads as it is). IMPORTANT: it's best NOT to do all the mods at once. Make a mistake and you won't know where to start looking (it is a classic newbie mistake and we've spent many threads trying to solve the resultant problem). It's also very educational to experience what each mod does to actual performance. It will help you more in the long run. |

PS Do the header first. |

If I do the header and can first, do I have to re-jet the carburetor also? My bike is at a paint shop right now which is about 250 miles away. If I take the header and the can to the workshop and replace it there, can I ride back 250 miles without playing around with the carburetor? |

Yes. It would be risky (but not very) if this were August! Always run premium. Unfortunately doing any mods far from home is also a bad idea. Forget to tighten some bolts or install them wrong and youre a long way from home. I know that may seem over cautious, but doing any kind of maintenance or repairs immediately before a long trip is always a risky endeavor. It's best to do them and have at least a weeks worth of riding before heading out. Shit happens. |
