Thought some might be interested in this. Sold for 7000. I've seen nicer on this board. The tail is hideous. Apparently a fair amount of engine work to get 120 hp to the rear wheel. https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail.cfm?lot_id=LV0115 -200787 |

That's shocking. I would expect a bone stock S1 in perfect condition to fetch that, but not one that's been heavily modified. Not at auction. Those guys aren't buying stuff to drive or ride, they're buying things to resell later. Typically, it's the stock items that sell well. Agree about the tail. Any why would you spend all that money tarting up an S1 and keep the stock shifter? |

umm... rear footpegs? maybe they were smart enough not to want to modify it permanently. |

Not worth $7000. The builder couldn't even get the gauges in straight. Not impressed. |

That tail section was made by Fast Co. back in the day. I have an old Buell poster that shows a race bike running that tail. Haven`t seen one on a bike in years. S1Eric (Message edited by S1Eric on January 13, 2015) |

I ran one on my old race bike. Saved all of the body work. Still have it hanging around. S1Eric

The offset gauges is a racing trick. Set them to where normal will be straight up an down, I.e. Shift at 6K,7K. No way its pushing 120 RWHP with that tiny A/C on there, more than likely only with it off. Hard to push more than 95 HP through a 5x2" round air filter. |

Also the heads look to be raised port according to way the air cleaner sits a bit higher in the motor than mine. |

The rear pulley cutout pattern is a really good one, pictures don't show it very well. I like the tail piece design. Maybe a little too much red overall though. I also have the same PM rear caliper but cut holes in the mount. It's "worth" what anyone will pay for it, I suppose. |

Interested to see what kind of correction is used as well; heard to imagine 120 HP with only 80 FT/LBS. Most 120 HP builds get to 90 FT/LBS even on 1250cc. |
