I'm looking for a list of bars that have the same or better rise and pull back as the stock bars.

Any suggestions?

By "better" do you mean higher rise and/or more pull back?

At 5'8", I went to medium rise bar that Al sells @ American Sport Bike.

I put a set from a Yamahammer four wheeler on my former City-X that were three inches higher, three inches wider, and swept back three inches farther. They worked out great for me to sit more upright and have a little more leverage.

Just had to re route the clutch and throttle cables outside the steering head.

Teeps - Better = More rise and pull back

Vern - I have the stock bars on the Uly with 2" rox risers. I notice at full lock right the throttle cable is under tension and idles up, not by a lot when in that position.

I took the plastic cover off the neck and there is a little less tension, but it's still there. How did you route the cables? I either need to re route them or get longer cables.

Ultimate goal is to stand on the pegs and ride with the bars at a comfortable reach for my arms without me slouching over.
Options are:
1. Lower Pegs
2. Higher bars and longer cables
3. Risers under the Rox risers and longer cables.

I would need to replace the clutch, throttle and front brake line.

Well these aren't cheap but I love them for my long ass legs! But they will give you another inch, if that's worth the money. They are wide and nice to stand on.

I have the 2" drop pegs and rox risers and am 5'11.5" and I find it comfortable standing on the pegs

I went with some Pro-Taper bars from my local dealership. They are working out pretty good.

I took the throttle cables and clutch cable off at the twist grip and the lever, pulled them back down through the center part of the forks.

I laid them out running straight to their original locations outside the forks, then zip tied as necessary to the outside of the upper forks with metal lined zip ties. Then I made sure there were no kinks or restrictions at full steering lock and suspension travel and that the ends were at their best angles.

I am finding it hard to justify the $150 + Shipping for an extra inch on the pegs.

I had Pro-Tapers on one of my other Uly's. The bars themselves are great, but the bend and pull back on those were not my cup of tea.
I haven't found a rise and pullback yet on the dirt bike style bars that I like. The stock bars seem a little narrow in comparison, but it has the height that I need.

Vern, thanks for getting back to me on routing the cables. I have already pulled the front brake line out of the clamps from the bars to the fender. This helped in reducing the angle at the bars and it's no longer under tension. I will try your routing for the throttle cables.

You are welcome.

You'd think that being run up the center would be the shortest route, but then, it is not the shortest route to where they attach.

I think the bars I found were for a 2000's model Yamaha four wheeler. They were high enough that they had the cross bar like the Uly. What I liked about them was the sweep brought them back about three inches at the ends and they were about three inches higher.

I can get you some pics tomorrow in the daylight. I bought the Fasst bars which were 1 1/8" which isn't a problem on the surface, however, the Rox Risers you need for a Uly are 1" male and female. You need the Uly specific risers due to the crazy angle of the ones cast in to the top tree. On top of this I used a Rox 1" to 1 1/8" that I put the Fasst bars on. There are indeed more joints but it has held solid for several years and countless miles. Where do you live ? I might be able to show you in person and let you test ride my set up.

Hey slowride, I am going to attempt to attach some photo's I just took. If you are around and see an area that you would like a better pic of just post up and I'll see if I can oblige you. it's difficult to see exactly what I've done, there's a lot going on in the bar / riser area.

My photos won't load. They say they are 8** x 8** pixels which is smaller than what the website says is the max pixel dimension but it keeps telling me they are too large. Dammit ! I will keep trying 'till I'm ready to smash my computer. Then I'll stop.

Skinstains,
Now that I have seen your bike, I have a favor to ask. Can you post of these pictures in an online album somewhere?
I want to see how you have your aux lights mounted.
I want to see how your front blinkers are mounted.
I want to see your air box mods.
Are the cross braces on the bars part of them or aftermarket holders for some accessory?
I want to see your Oil Cooler cover.
Is that a touratech light guard?
Is that a knife mounted to your forks at the triple tree?

How about some full sided shots of the bike with head on and rear?

Thanks buddy.

Btw, I am in Arkansas, unless we find a place to meet in the middle say in Floriduh, I don't think I could take your bike for a spin.

Hey Slowride,

1) I have no idea how to post pics in an online album but I can take a bunch of pics and put them here.

2) The cross braces are indeed part of the bars, if you're not familiar with Fasst bars check out their website. They have a skateboard truck mounted to each side to eliminate vibrations.

3) It is indeed a Touratech light guard, it's thin ass aluminum and plastic and was way overpriced.

4) Wow good eye. It is indeed a Kabar mounted on my left fork leg, I thought I kept it out of the pic.

I will head outside now to take some more pictures of the parts of the bike you are interested in and post them here.

If you want to take the pics and then send them to me, I will upload them to my online picture album. You can use that location to post them else where in many formats (small - LARGE)

Teeps, Are the medium rise bars, from American Sport Bike, lower than stock? Are they the Renthals? If so, what do you think of their quality? Do you know if they make a bar that's close to the stock Uly bend?

Teeps, Are the medium rise bars, from American Sport Bike, lower than stock?

Yes. I had to get a Lightening clutch cable and had a brake line custom made by HEL Performance $49 delivered to my door.
I was able to reroute the throttle cables, so originals are still in use.

Are they the Renthals?
Yes

If so, what do you think of their quality?
Excellent.

Do you know if they make a bar that's close to the stock Uly bend?
Sorry, I do not.
Al @ American Sport Bike could better answer this question.
