The EBC sintered pads are FA47HH and can be found for around $25. |

Impossible to get the caliper apart, unlike the front where you remove bolts and it splits in half. |

So question on the banjo bolt. It's a 1.0 pitch. Is there a certain length I should be looking for? Also, IIRC the rear uses a pressure switch banjo bolt for the brake light. Are you all just going without the pressure switch with a standard banjo? I can see the logic in this... |

Looking at the stock caliper, it looks like you need to remove the circular disc in the center. Now, they designed the swirl cuts to only allow it to be installed, not removed. However, it could be modified to be removed I think. When I do mine I'll definitely see what it takes to disassemble the old one |

If you look at the first pic in this thread you'll see evidence of where I attempted to persuade the disc to come out of the OEM caliper with a punch. It wouldn't move. Note that I attempted this after I confirmed that the Brembo was a viable substitute for the OEM caliper as it was on its way into the trash. |

I agree the old caliper is not a high quality unit and probably not worth the time and effort it would take to get it separated for service. I would have paid more for a caliper that doesn't drag and is a relatively easy retrofit. My old one never totally locked up while riding but it got to the point where it was dragging so bad it was hard to push the bike around the garage. Unsettling at least for me. So the banjo is a 1.0? Is there a specific length to look for? |

Fresno, here is a pic of the banjo bolt I used with the Brembo caliper.

Unfortunately it looks like this seller doesn't ship to Canada. There does seem to be a lot of people selling used calipers at twice the price though. |

Is the brembo's performance much better than the stock unit? |

Can you not use the stock banjo bolt on this caliper? The rear brake pressure sensor isn't a big deal for me, since it doesn't have a rear brake light. Thanks! |

Is it a M10 1.0 banjo that is being used for this caliper? |

Dennis, I have experienced no noise at all with the new Brembo caliper. I did give the rotor a light sanding with some 120 grit emery cloth, radial strokes, and cleaned it with solvent. If you've not done that you might give it a try. |

The OEM uses a coarse thread (1.25)(top). The Brembo uses a fine thread (1.0)(bottom).

I got my Brembo installed, painted red and went with EBC pads. I cleaned up the rotor with a scotch bright pad and brake cleaner and got a metric banjo bolt from one of the local bike shops. I used 1/4" SS flat washer to space the caliper out.

The clean and sand did not help. Next I will try taking out the spacers. |

Dennis...some of the early 1125r s had a sticky rear master brake cylinder (corrosion inside the cylinder)...there is no (additional)pedal return spring except for the spring in the master cylinder...you may want to check the "action" of the M/C...is it free and smooth? or sticky...if it's sticky the pistons in the caliper won't re-track enough and the pads will drag....or like some early units...the rear brake locks (doh!) |

Ran the rear caliper at the track day yesterday. Works just fine. No squeaking or anything. |

Update: braking performance of the Brembo caliper is better in every respect when compared to the OEM - more progressive and greater ultimate force. |
