Hello All, Former XB12S owner thinking about rejoining the Buell fold. :-) I'm thinking about picking up a used 1125R to use as a daily rider/commuter. I plan on doing as much maintenance myself as possible and from what I've read, the 1125R is a decent enough design for the home DIYer. I've perused some of the existing threads and I get the impression that parts may be getting harder to find. Is that the general consensus or does it depend on what you're looking for? Considering the smoking deals on used 1125Rs, it's pretty tempting to just jump in with both feet. |

Welcome to the board. Getting parts is no different today than it was before the factory closed. In fact it may even be easier, depending on what you are looking for. As you have probably read, there is an issue with the stator design on 2009 and 10 models, but EBR has a fix with a modified rotor cup to cool the stator off. The 1125 is the best bang for the buck bike out there! |

EBR bike's use the same engine for the most part. Parts will always be around unless buell closes the doors for good. The XB bike's will always have parts because of Harley. |

I just picked up a slightly used 09' 1125R in September. Did it because I loved the 02' M2 I had back in the day and you just can't beat the price for a used 1125 these days. It sucks that the bike depreciated so fast but it works out for those who want one now. I just put Dean Adam's RT-3 exhaust and an EBR ECM on the bike in a very cold Virginia night the other day. Holy poop on a stick is that bike something else now. You will not be sorry so go ahead and get one. |

Thanks for the feedback so far. After getting the all important nod of approval from my Mrs. for the second bike, I'm targeting late or early spring to pick one up. I'll continue perusing the forums in the interim so I can make as informed a purchasing decision as possible. |

The world is strange. I have been thinking seriously of selling my 2008 Signature 1125R. It is so powerful but so is a Suzuki, difference is the handling is superb out the factory door. I will miss it but am concentrating on the air cooled XBs and a few singles in the garage. I just cannot keep them all in pristine condition and am winnowing down the lot. Going from 10 down to four, I hope. The 1125R has hit 160 (as geared from the factory) on an ECTA measured flying mile. The potential is staggering for such an American twin. Parts are definitely available through HD and other places. You should have a great time with your 1125R... so f'n cool.Welcome back to the group.
