Found this site last night when looking for info on Race Kits! I ride a 2001 Buell X1, No mods yet. However, I just purchased a race kit. Comes with everything! Here is my question, The Site says the Race Header cannot be used with the stock Airbox! Anyone know why, or if the Stock Airbox can be run with the race header! Second, If I deciede not to use the race header, Will the Race kit pipe work with my existing header? Thanks for help! -Jason. |

On the X1 you use the stock air box, just change the filter. No, the race muffler will not bolt up to your stock header. Make sure you take the bike to a Buell dealer so they can reset your TPS before you ride the bike. Ride to the edge! Dave Iowa HD/Buell (Buell Cycle Center) |

The race kit for the X1 should have come with an ECU, a K&N air filter for the stock air box, and an exhaust system (header and muffler). I would "gut" to air box per directions found in the Knowledge Vault. What "Site" are you referring to? May be a misprint. |

ok, I see now. I thought it was a physical thing, new header wont clear airbox or somthing. It wasn't specifec on website. http://www.suburbanharley.com/catalog/productdetails.cfm?ProductID=2574 That is where I found the Comment. Can I get a link to the Airbox gut? -Jason edited by wceviper on March 26, 2004 |

From that site I think they are referring to the kit for a S3 or M2 In that case it is the breather and not the header that will not work with the stock air box. You should be fine. Here is the link to the X1-files where the air box mod can be found. http://www.saintjohn.nbcc.nb.ca/marriott/x1/#FI |
