Grrr. If I don't get an answer by Friday, I am going and they'll have to work around my schedule if they want me that bad. |

That's the attitude! Just tell them that you have already made vacation plans when you're being hired and usually employers will accommodate you. They probably won't pay you for the time you're away, however. How often do you get a chance to ride to Newfoundland? |

Problem with renting a house is NEWFOUNDLAND IS A REAL BIG PLACE!!!!!!! It just took me over 6 hrs to drive partway across the island today. I have some real nice pictures and once I get some rest I will post. |

Well logically captain, we need to find somewhere in the middle then, but that's probly miles from anywhere. As I don't know diddly about Newfieland, (apart from fish, chips, & screech that is) I'm quite prepared to be guided by someone with local knowledge on this. I know from other posts that some don't want to spend all their daylight hours in the saddle, and if there's that much of it to see we're never going to do it in a week, so I guess favourite would be to find a base near where things are happening & ride out from there. I'm not trying to nail anybody down to anything , I'm happy to go with the flow. Any other ideas? throw your tuppence worth in the pot. (please remember I DON'T DO CAMPING! I LIKE TO SLEEP IN A REAL BED) ps. I can cook! pps How big is your cat Dull? Is it one of those Star Trek space cats? damn, took too many happy pills again |

Since we haven't gotten together a start date from Detroit... I'm proposing Friday, July 30th, early as hell in the morning, as the start off point from Detroit. I think the trip from D-town to the ferry is around 1800 miles, and we have to be at the ferry midnight Saturday night. I think that is doable in the time we'll have. Again, I gotta know when we all want to meet, I have a ton of other stuff riding on it (flight to CA, drinking a few beers at the Thunderdome, and then 4 days on the road...) I know it's a long way off, but I am sorta a control freak and want to know what we have planned. Newfie, I am really looking forward to coming up and hanging out with everyone again, maybe this time we should bring goodies for Crusty, American booze, and hope that Spidey doesn't destroy Mary Jane in the process... IAmike... I'm going to be leaving Dubuque at the end of the month, let's start tossing together a plan for our New England trip and meet somewhere between Waterloo and Dubuque for breakfast and go over those plans... Gimme a call or an email. Alex |

Alex, I think that I've got a meeting in Davenport Wed. If so I'll drop by on the way home. Both my next weekends are busy with scout leader training. Otherwise I might be able to do a sunday. It was absolutely amazing the other night. After church a friend had asked my wife about my Newfie trip and she said that she didn't know anything about it. I've only been talking about it for 6 months and even said that Drew was going to ride along. No wonder we've made it for 26 years, and women claim that men never listen. |

Brad, Mike wants you to come, heard all about the trip to my pounding grounds (PA), and after that, how the hell can you justify missing Newfoundland? Get the vacation, and head on out. I believe Mike is parking his trailer and truck at my sister's place, I'm not going to be there on the way up, but I will be on the way back. I can assure you that you'll get one hell of a good dinner when we're there, she's a chef, and sometimes even has her own microbrews... You have to come. Mike, Once you find out about your meeting, give me a call or an email. Alex |

In light of Bluz's last post I am thrusting him into the fray. I also am going to start adding people's planned routes/schedule's to my website as people announce them so that everyone can see where everyone else is at. Alex- I thought that I put your phone number in my PDA when you were here for the chili feed, obviously I didn't. I am not driving all the way to Davenport just for a 2hr. video viewing. Ping me with your number or give me a call (319) 269-0259. Mike |

Aside from Dullorb's list, how many people are coming? I seem to recall someone mentioning that there might be a group riding up from the Buffalo, NY area, but no numbers on how many. I'm going to need to know by the end of April, or there will be some disappointed Buellers next August. |

Dull you can put me up to 100%. I have the tickets, tho they've just e-mailed me to tell me the flight times have changed, I now arrive 14.30 not 13.05 as previously advertised. Crusty, is your missus going to be the only girly there? My little darling is letting me loose on the world on my own! Do they have more nice girlies in Newfieland? |
