We've purchased a limited run of Banke Billet shifters for the M2/S3/S2 models. See http://americansportbike.com/newdir/Item/5777-01A . These are the 2001 style Banke shifter, but they have the X1 pivot blocks so they can be used with or without the X1 chin guard. Once these go, I'm not sure if we'll ever have them again. Al |

How does it work with the S2 foot peg position? Does it pivot from the front bolt and use a shorter linkage? |

In my current situation there's no way I could ever afford to buy one but could maybe fab one up. |

Hi all.thanks for the personal messages. Perhaps I need to explain more. First I have no spare cash whatsoever. Secondly I have a M2 cyclone and have relocated the foot pegs up and rear have installed an updated X1 shifter kit and shortend the gear leaver by 1 inch.so a banke kit is not going to work.what I was thinking of doing is relocating the screw hole for the adjustable connecting rod from fore to aft and removing the forward tab I wandered if using the same measurement of the distance between the screw hole and pivot point would make the gear change the same or would I need to alter the measurement slightly to get the same leverage to change gear? |

You need an X1/S1 model for the S1 due to the placement of the foot pegs. |

The footpegs are further back on an X1 or S1 than an M2 or S3. The shift pedal is longer on the X1/S1 version. We have some of each, but not many: M2/S3: http://americansportbike.com/newdir/Item/5777-01A X1/S1: http://americansportbike.com/newdir/Item/5791A |

I've got a couple of questions...The description says 2001 style, will it fit my 2000 M2? Is it the same shift pattern (1 down, 4 up)? And is the leverage the same. This looks like a nice shifter, and I always thought the original had too much side to side play. Thanks. |

Yup, it'll fit all years, it's just the 2001 style where it doesn't have the big sloppy boomerang. The 1 down 4 up is a function of the shift drum, not the shifter. Though if you flip the shift shaft arm to the other side, it becomes 1 up 4 down. I haven't personally done it with this shifter, but I think it will work. Al |

FYI, I have two of these M2/S3 shifters left from this last buy. There won't be any more, and the 01 shifter assemblies from HD/Buell are obsolete. So if you have an M2 or S3 and have the stock shifter, and especially if you have the stupid boomerang style, get one of these while you still can. M2/S3: http://americansportbike.com/newdir/Item/5777-01A The X1/S1 shifters are all gone. Thanks Al |

I just noticed that the link above was a dead link. that is fixed. There are two of Banke M2/S3 shifters available, there won't be more, at least from us. I'm pretty sure James is out now too. http://americansportbike.com/newdir/Item/5777-01A Thanks, Al |
