Bobby, if you're lurking, I sent you an email regarding Grattan Track Day. If you are still interested, let's talk. .....and that goes to anyone else out there that might be interested. Not too late to make plans. Can anyone recommend a decent (preferably cheap) motel around Grattan? |

Big Meeting This Thurs, April 1st, } Just want to remind everyone of the meeting on Thurs. night. I talked with Brian Nallin and Steve Vegin both today and they will definitely be here. Brian will talk about his new company, his products, and be available to answer questions on performance modifications. Steve will be showing us his GN bike and talking about the AMA GranNational racing program. It should be a very interesting meeting, don't miss it. Sam Sam Scolastico Illinois H-D/Buell 1301 S. Fly, I spoke with Brent a couple times this week about meeting you somewhere and loading your bike on my rig so you don't have to ride all the way. I could knock off the last 120 miles or so. Get my cell from Brent or email me from profile. I'll be heading up around 0300 sat morn or I could go earlier, don't really matter. DOG |

Twodogs, Thanks for the offer. My initial arrangements fell through, but currently working with X2ski1 to get another trailer option lined up out of Chicago. Bobbi wants to ride Grattan Sat/Sun, and so do I if we can. Looks promising so far, so hope to see you this weekend. Looks cold, low 50's Saturday, low 40's Sunday, both with 20% chance of precipitation. Of course, this keeps changing. I will bail if rain is > 50% |

Larry, Ukes HD, May 4. See ukeshd.com (event calendar) for details. There's many others published in current Abate of Illinois monthly newsletter, but I don't recall details. See www.abate-il.org for more info. Also see http://www.ssabate.org (events) for south side ABATE. Looks like something in April. You can also check out any of the following for more information regarding planned events: cmausa.com www.chicagomotorcycleguide.com/ www.windycitybrag.com (see LINKS) That should keep you busy! |

Kirk, where were you Sunday morning????? I didn't see you at Denny's on Rt 41. A little cold for you, was it? There were about 25 bikes up the road at Full Moon @ 10:00am, mostly BMW and touring, very few sportbikes. Armed with my heated clothes, I rode about 260 miles Sunday on the SV650 (working on Buell suspension right now). I explored great hilly/twisty backroads around Lake Geneva, then headed up to Kettle Moraine to do the same. I've come up with some specific routes (including loops to run them forward/backwards/over again if desired) and will definitely be planning some rides! Can't say enough about how fun the riding is up there, especially on a sportbike. The heated clothes make it nice and cozy and allow off-season riding when there is no traffic, no cops, no bugs and no foliage to block views or hide animals around blind corners. It's better than a track day.
