1190AX "confirmed" Mmmhmm. Someone spent almost 15 minutes using MS Paint to whip this up. |

quote:Anyway, he confirmed that the AX will be a bike built on the same platform as the other two 1190s.
(I didn't see anywhere in the interview where he said that, but maybe he said it off the record. Interview is linked a couple of threads below.) While Dane Hoechst, EBR Program Manager, in Cycle World a couple of months ago:
quote:The AX will be a completely new motorcycle. It won’t be a simple variance of the RX and SX. A lot of work and investment needs to go into that.
http://www.cycleworld.com/2014/09/03/on-the-record -with-dane-hoechst-erik-buell-racing-program-manag er/ Those two quotes are directly contradictory. |

There it is. Job done. Somebody did all the work for them. Brembos up front single sided swing arm. Nice bodywork. Those bags look a little suspicious though. I'll take one. |

Those bags look a little suspicious though. The right side bag doubles as a super-extra-large secondary resonator to provide even MORE mid-range torque.

Those wheels may have been multi strada wheels, no hubless front rotors photo chop and some guess work... Ymmv |

Someone signed in as Erik Buell and left a comment at the bottom of that article. Too funny. 'Erik' said, "What a stupid rendering." |

That is probably one of the worst photo chops I have ever seen. My favorite part is how the front fairing bolts directly to the tank. Bah! } |

Clearly shopped by someone who has never ever seen a Buell or EBR. |

>>>Clearly shopped by someone who has never ever seen a Buell or EBR. If you'll remind me in a couple hours . . . I'll go you one better. This "chop" doesn't even approach the greatest Buell faux paux back in 1998. Only problem was the last one was done by someone we were paying to "carry the message". |

When my young, impressionable mind (QUIT laughing...) read "jazz dens of Gotham till sunlight" the following is the only thing I could think of: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgbqqUCYwn0 Or perhaps it's just the triumphant return of "Jazz Hands" Canfield??? |

Largely inaccurate ...... In my opinion. Note they quote no one from EBR but rely on "based on what xxx said". Lots of inaccurate assumptions. |

All these articles seem to have blossomed from the interview that Autoevolution.com did with EBR VP of sales Gary Pietruszewski, and their follow-on article with lots of pure speculation about the AX. Here's what was said in that article:
quote:ae: Lately, we’ve been rather good at guessing. When we learned that KTM was about to dish out a bike called 1050 Adventure, we just said “well, here comes a road-focused Adventure with cast wheels”. Are we making the right guess for the upcoming EBR 1190AX? GP: The AX is still in our product plans, we haven’t gotten to that point yet, but it’s going to be designed as a combination of street and some off-road riding. ae: So we guessed right, again! GP: Yes, haha, congratulations! ae: Is there any certainty related to the 1190AX, as in where it will arrive? GP: No, but it won’t be in 2015. It’s in our plans after that, but we don’t have any exact date for it. So far the focus is on middleweights and the low-cc.
