My S1W seat is cracked and split. After reading here it seems like I might as well just get it recovered instead of trying another new seat. Butt, what kind of cover? Is it worth getting leather? Just get vinyl? How much padding should I ask them to add without it looking ridiculous? Solo seat BTW. Long rides numb up the twig and berries something fierce, hoping a little padding on the front will help. |

Hit up Loren (GoWindward) of Baldwin Motorbike Saddles. He does gel inserts, foam building, and all kinds of materials for recovers. Leather would hold up a little better, but I think Vinyl would be more comfortable. Just my $.02 though. I think Loren has done hundreds of seats by now though so I'd ask him as he's probably got a ton of feedback on the subject. |

I do not know this person and have not yet done business with him but do plan to send my wife's ninja seat to him when budget allows. There are not many seat options for her ninja and being able to lower with updated material is the real deciding factor. Don't remember which ninja forum I pulled that from but he had great feedback from what I read. http://greatdaytoride.com/FAQ.html Also saw some custom buell seat covers for the M2 on ebay recently that I might try for my select seat. Nothing specific to S1W solo but might be worth contacting to see. http://www.ebay.com/sch/firma_wijalis/m.html?item= 131324315261&hash=item1e938a067d&pt=Motorcycles_Pa rts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l25 62 |

I also re-covered my solo seat, guy which worked on it used vinyl (synthetic leather?). He also added some padding, but it looked nasty on the bike (it destroyed those minimalistic lines of S1), so he reworked the seat again without additional padding. IMO, it looks and feels great.
