I bought some of the oem aluminum footpegs off ebay for my S1W. Looks great, light but almost too light. When going fast and shifting I've had them flip up since there's no springs, even on the old ones. Has anybody added springs to these pegs? I've seen wave washers that I think might work or I was thinking putting on longer bolts and covert some dirtbike springs somehow? |

The 2000-2002 Tubers have springs from the factory. They'll retrofit on earlier models with similar footpegs. I put them on my 99 as soon as the 2000 models were released. |

if the pegs don't use the return spring they were supposed to use a spring formed D washer, at least my older tube frame bikes 96 98 99 had a spring D washer t help add the necessary friction to keep the pegs down in a "locked" position... |

I put spring on mine because the pegs would pop up and stay up when I pushed the bike backwards. Now when I hit them with my legs, they go right back down. |

Jolly, you mean like these? http://www.jpcycles.com/product/540-242?utm_source =none&utm_term=&adpos=1o1&creative=44525597410&dev ice=c&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=CLWn9drqrsECFc1Z7 AodLiYA9w Have run across these and some round ones. Doesn't seem like there's enough room unless they are really thin? (Message edited by Hooked on October 15, 2014) |

yep thats what my bikes had except the one bike that came with the return spring set up... they are tough to fit in but they do "friction lock" the pegs down, and if you dont have them in then the pegs "flop" around on you...with them installed you have to work to fold them up then push them back down. Ive since converted all of my bikes to the return spring... |

For "SAFETY" the spring that always returns the peg to the riding position is the best and safest set up !!! ie: when you go to put your foot back on the peg it will be down and ready ... |
